Interesting video.  Did the guy record the aircraft flying and later edit in the sound?  Sometimes the engine sound doesn't quite match up with what the aircraft is doing (like at the top of the loop).  Anyhow, it was still very enjoyable to watch   :aok.

Quick Silver was the first P-51 that I ever hear the sound from and it made me  :)  then  :D

Hope to see and hear her again in Geneseo this year.

I've thought about making it out to Geneseo, maybe this year.

airplane sounds will change with plane movement, like when a plane is turning and coming at you it will be a little quieter for a second as exhaust is kinda like blocked. kinda like a jet coming straight at its not loud until it gets closer then passes you.

I believe the film sound is unedited.

You might consider that light and sound travel at different speeds. eg. the flash of lighting followed by the clap of thunder a few seconds later. The camera lens and its sound recorder will work like human eyes and ears.

Doppler effect. It's why the sound of a siren changes as it approaches and then passes. It's also how weather detection (Doppler radar) and some water flow meters work.

This would only be noticed from outside the aircraft or object the sound is coming from.

Kick arse sound!

Doesn’t seem edited.

Thanks for the share. Great video

And yet despite all the modern sound devices out there nobody seems to be able to capture the “Merlin Hum” — yet videos from the 70s manage to do it.    :bhead
