If it wasn’t for you guys on the skinning team this game wouldn’t look nearly the way it does now. Great work guys, keep it up.  :aok

Also lyric for all the historical background and pictures to supply most of these skins too.

I haven't played the game in years but I still love to gawk at screenshots of Greebo's latest skinning masterpieces on a regular basis.

Not to diminish Greebo’s Work, but others have created a masterpiece or two themselves.    Look around.   You might be surprised.

(Thanks to the OP and others for the attaboys.   It’s a lot of work to do these things.   Glad to see they’re of value.)

they are indeed. competent and well done and no disparagement intended as I consider myself one them... in fact I am likely one of the most uncredited and disliked (By HTC and many others) texture map and terrain contributors from the distant past history of AH.

I personally revised the 2d plans from many sources and photographs for the 3d model for the B17g years ago. (the AH B17g 3d model is the only accurate 3d model of a B17 in existence and you have me to thank for the accuracy of the plans upon which it was created by Natedog who was unhappy with inaccurate available 3-view plans back at the time of its construction.) Made the default texture maps for the B17g, B25C, B25H, P39D, P39Q, P38J and did skins for the P51D, P38G, P38J, original P40E and B25C years ago and I always considered my own work very good...

but to me Greebo was always the gold standard prolific skinner that has improved the quality of a mass quantity of vehicle and aircraft graphics for HTC and AH to a level that attracts even an observer who does not play AH to enjoy inspecting his work...

I simply enjoy looking at Greebo screenshots of the texture work he has done due to the intricate detail and realism he is able to capture.

I always liked your maps.    When Buzzkill comes up in the rotation people are screaming, “Bring back the Fester map!”

As for me, I’m sticking with P-51s.  I learned a lot from Greebo, Devil505, Mus51, Oboe, etc.  I think it finally shows.

Hi Fester, nice to see you back on the forums. Thanks for the compliments as well although back when you were skinning I thought your skins were much better than mine. I'd like to think my skins have improved over the years although some of that is down to AH3's much better 3D models and lighting effects. As for detail bear in mind that compared to other skinners here many more of my skins are AH3 2048 or 4096 res shapes. These have a far higher pixel density, as well as a higher poly count and no mirroring or stretching. Even the older AH2 1024 res shapes now have diffuse, normal, specular, power and environmental maps to play with. This means we no longer have to do things like bake in natural metal effects into the diffuse texture to stop it looking like grey paint.
