My gawd. They're better than anyone in the game--at least currently. I feel like I am fighting six (redacted) or something. Can we dial them back a little? Please?
Does drag even affect them?
I think they should at least have some aerodynamic limits.
I love having them there, but it's really a bit cheesy to get into a dogfight with a B-17 and see him fly better than a YAK-9.

I also noted they like to collide a lot and never seem to get hurt by it.
-
a couple of weeks ago some complained that the drones were too easy to kill.

I guess we’ve snapped back the other way, then.
Yeah, they’re easy to kill if you don’t fly realistically. I killed eight the other day bouncing them off the terrain. That’s not what I am referring to here.

I heard all the drones are in drag. I thought that was why you were gone so much from AH. :P

It would be good if they were restrained to the same drag model we are.
They aren't very intelligent, only about ten times as intelligent as HamrDown. Their don't understand bunting, and are suspectable to flightpath-length overshoots. They are hard to rope because of the drag. I mostly use them to practice reversals and gunnery.

They are. But some are less draggy then you, some are more draggy. Some can pull more g's then you some less. Some can pull exactly to the edge, some less.

Are airframe limits in place? Make them be as draggy as they should be. They’re already ahead six to one most of the time.
They seem to outaccelerate anything I’ve ever seen even when they are bombers. They pull a 180 and close on you like you’re in mud.

Yeah, other than gunnery practice I don't quite see the point. At the least I think their rides should behave like ours, type for type. These B-26s doing F-16 stuff defy reality. No idea what a noob is supposed to think of all this.
I am begging for a small tweak. Nothing crazy.

I agree.....I only use it to practice my 262 gunnery......other than that I think it is pointless in the current format..... :old:

Sounds like y'all need some more practice  :bolt:

Okay, Sparky, show us how it’s done. I expect film on Monday. :old:

Violator is a poor target drone. He stick-stirs too much and swears.

Usually you can read the fight by airframe but now only after a few manoeuvres. I haven't seen variations in tactic / preferences so much. Would that be possible?

Film has been posted in the films and screenshot section.

And not even on YouTube? Tsk tsk. I don’t use the film viewer. :(

Nice work, Fugi.
This vid by V1 pretty much mimics my experience there. You can force overshoots because they have no drag and you can also bounce them off the terrain pretty easily. I scored eight the other day and only fired my guns a couple of times.
The problem is you wind up low and slow against AI that have no drag. You can fight two, force overshoots, kill a couple, then wind up with an A-20 or a B-26 climbing up your six at 450 mph—often suffering a collision in the process.
They need to be dialed back a hair when it is 6:1. Let them perform like their FM requires and you can get something out of it from a learning/training standpoint.
Good vid though. Thanks for flying my skin. :salute

I will say they weren't easy with the P51. Though had I been in a 109 they probably would have died a lot more quickly on my own accord. They were a good match for the P51 though. I wasn't trying to make them auger but was lmao when they both went in close to the same time :rofl
In all fairness. I will say it's great practice for MA situations.

So some have the same flight model as the Yak3 and Brewster. Got it.
