if we are not gonna do away with the dark can we please get some color contrast to the water. gamma helps, but in vr you can not change gamma. for me and one other in the squad with vr its almost impossible to fight over the water at dark. there is no depth perception when its stark black.
thanks you

oh burn!

Reality doesn't provide any good perception of height over water either. Luckily, in contrast to reality there is a perfectly calibrated altimeter, with water exactly at 0 ft.

In vr the darkness is more the issue. Much harder to see than on a regular monitor.

What he said. Near impossible to see planes. Dizzing effect of the darkness in vr with no feel of pull.

Yes reality does. I have flown low over water at night leaving Daytona each in a bonanza v tail many times and can tell easily the difference from the water and sky because of CONTRAST. Now have I ever been in a dog fight over the water? No. Do I play a game that has darkness in it for what ever reason? Yes. Does almost everyone complain about the dark times when in a nice furball? Yes.
I know how to use a altimeter and I understand that water is at zero feet. So your post was adsolutely unhelpful in here. I suppose your next response will be to find a fight some where not over water? I’ll answer that when you post it.

I think CCVI meant that looking straight down at the water from 20k vs 2k is very hard to judge altitude. Not taking about the horizon line.

I’m talking a bout dog fighting over water where vertical and horizontal is blended rather quickly.

Water hard... air soft. :aok
