Hello,
I am giving this thing a go and I gotta tell you the help that comes with the program is woefully inadequate.
I have gone through the posts for the last year, but it seems that a good deal of the information I found was related to previous versions.
So, please post anyURL's or other pointers to any information archives or whatever.
Also, two quick questions:
1. Is there any way to see the ENTIRE map in the editor?
2. Does the the map (in lower right) serve any other purpose, other than a rough guide?
...more questions to come, I am sure.
thanks
F.

If you have a map in the editor, click "make map" it will create a map.bmp in the terrain directory. If you rename this file to your terrain name and restart ahedit and you can see the map in the right lower corner of AH editor.
1) Nop, if you put alt on max then thats the maximum zoom you can get.
2) the map right bottom is indeed a rough guide but if you check field, entry point, object circles, if gives you a good idea how far fields are apart and where they are placed. Along with the maxed out zoom this is more then enough to quickly locate fields.

The bottom right corner map will show your entire terrain and you build it just like Broes said.
Just a NOTE! In order for that map to show up as a clipboard map in your finished terrain when you build it, you need to change it to 256Colors.
The max area of your terrain that can be seen at any one time while moving around in the editor and zooming out is 40 miles x 40 miles. ( really 41 x 41 )
Any information that you have on the earlier versions of the editor will still help you.
The only reason for updating the editor is to allow people to add the new "stuff" to their terrains.
This version is a big improvement over the past editors but basicly building the terrain and laying the fields is still done the same way.
