Title: Me 262 "White 22" Jv 44

ME 262 of Jv 44 as seen at the end of the war in Salzburg, Austria. Given the finicky nature of the 262 and it's engines, personal aircraft were not assigned in JV 44, so "White 22" could have been flown by any number of the notable pilots in "Galland's Circus". JV 44 was formed in March 1945 by Adolf Galland, Günther Lützow, and Johannes Steinhoff after the failed attempt sack Hermann Göring earlier that winter. The revolt was spearheaded by Lützow and Steinhoff in response to Göring's failure to provide adequate resources for Me 262 fighters and the sacking of Galland as General of Fighter Pilots - just to name a few examples. Instead of having them all shot, Göring allowed them to form a jet squadron in the hopes that the conspirators would die in combat. Galland would survive with minor injuries, but Steinhoff would be severely burned in a takeoff crash and Lützow would die following an attack B-26's on April 24, 1945.

This skin is an adoption of Fencer's original. The aircraft is finished in a simple scheme of RLM 81 over RLM 65.
