Planes we need for Special Event;
B-25J Mitchell
TBD Devastator
Ki-45 Toryu
Ju-52
Vickers Wellington Medium Bomber
B7A Grace
Would be nice to have;
B-26A Invader
PBY Catalina

Seriously, though ... I can get behind:
TBD Devastator
Ki-45 Toryu
Ju-52
and the Sparviero. :aok
(No need to overwhelm.) :old:

Beaufighter first!

Beaufighter first!
Sparviero first! Infinity! :old:

Actually, the B-25J should be first. It was used a bit more than the Beaufighter. This way it can be included in a lot more special events.
It needs the tail gunner position with formations.
-
No, the Beaufighter won the last poll and as such should be the next addition. It might actually help numbers in the game. Rather doubting your numbers anyway since about 4,400 J's were built versus 5,500 Beaufighters being built in Britain alone.

B-26 was the Mitchell, A-26 was the Invader.
Catalina would be a hanger queen, there is no real role for the PBY in game, other than player made up roles like having it act like an AWACS.

I thought the B-26 was the Marauder?

It was, my mistake. Was thinking of the previous post on the B-25J.

Not built more. Used more...
That you cannot refute. But, this thread is specifically for Special Events. The B-25J will max out the number scenarios and other events that can be created in AH. The Beaufighter and the "J" are not in the same class of aircraft, ones a bomber the other is a dedicated attack aircraft. We're looking for the right bomber to fill some gaps. The "J" fill a gap in every theater. The Beaufighter North Sea, Norway, some MTO, North Africa and Far East.
We really need the bomber.

I truly would love to see more aircraft models (Sparviero!) added to AH but, alas, I fear we likely won't. Although there are indeed a few models that would help events and maybe even one or two that would see use in the MA, the inventory we have is pretty rich and I suspect AHIII has reached the point of evolution where maintenance and oversight take precedence. I might start suggesting that players try out some of the other toys they've never touched (or hardly). The perspective of 'new' can be overshadowing 'untried.'
I know .... wishlist. Just a little PSA. :)

Yes I can. I just did. The Beau served from 1940 until the end of the war. The earliest use of the B-25 was April 1942.

Well then! The Sparviero entered service in 1936 and served `til 1952 (1959 in Lebanon).

Never mind, others got here first.

Yeah, a total number barely over 1,000 were built. At least that's more than the Chog.

SB2C.

R2D2.

A-26 Invader or B-26A (Marauder Mk. I)? I would say no to both because there are more important aircraft to add such as the TBD, Pe-2, and Beaufighter.

don't tell that to the WWII Australian squadrons who flew the Beaufighter
-
Beaufighter first!
+1
-
The Beaufighter and B-25J are the most needed planes.
B-25J really should have already been added. Not much extra to make since all the parts are on the existing C and H models. Just graft the nose from the C onto the H fuselage and bingo!.
-
B25's are Bomber/Attack aircraft ok 9816 Mitchells made-only 4318 were J's, there were a bunch of variants-A-B-C-D-E-F-J
b25j-NC was made a strafer . only 1000 were made strafer's.
5928 Beaufighter's were made-they were Fighter/Attack aircraft. and also well suited for night fighting, and can carry some bombs-rockets-or even a torpedo for anti shipping.
B25's only carry 3600Pds of ords
B26's 6000
B24's 8000
B17's 6000
Lancaster's 14,000pds
B25J-NC would be good for the Main Arena-would make Allison even harder to shoot down, lol
I would rather use a Bomber with the most bombs.
Fighter/Attack planes can do the strafing and bomb****ing.
but good luck with your wish

Don't forget the Fiat 55G

You are confusing this 2 aircraft. The B-26 was the Marauder bomber. Post war, the Marauder was phased out of service and when the Air Force became an interdependent service, the A-26 Invader, attack bomber, was rebranded the B-26 Invader. It served through the Vietnam War where it was rebranded back as the A-26 Invader after 40 were modified as B-26K in country, the modified were reclassed as A-26A. The original A was to be a night fighter, but the Air Force had the Night Widow.
If you happen to be in the Fort Worth,TX area, drop my the Vintage Flying Museum. There are 2 A-26s there. One is the K model that now flying and the other is a B model in Korean markings. I am part of the group, CAF Invader Squadron.
-
I'd rather wish for the B-26 to have the ordnance option to carry torpedoes.
-
why carry torpedoes on the b26 when it can sink a cv at easy from 6k with very little damage taken.

Because B-26 crews were also trained on using torpedoes and used torpedoes in combat.

The Horten 229, the worlds first stealth jet airplane invisible to radar. It's maiden flight was Feb 2, 1945.

I imagine the perk cost would be about 2,000 without any ENY. :D :D :D

Never operational. (Also not a stealth aircraft. This is a myth.)

Truth hurts you, I guess.
(Don’t blame me. Hitech makes the rules. That plane doesn’t qualify.)

You can see if it exists here though...

You missed my point. The Ho 229 post was a joke, you came in all serious and stuff with your facts and what not.

Ah, my bad.
I expect to see :P when a serious topic goes silly.
Cheerio.

Debbie Downer, now that made me laugh. :D :D :D :rofl :rofl :rofl
Oh I know HiTech would not waste his time on the 229. It did not see action in WW2.
But, this forum says Wishlist and we can wish for whatever we want. :D
btw it was made of plywood and the engines were tucked in tight close to the cockpit so that it had a very small profile.
Radar in WW2 was still in its infancy.

Radar was hardly infant by this time. It was/is/would have been detectable at about 80% the distance of an ME-109.

Any 4 engine German machine, with bombs
Westland Lysander - Sups, Bombs or new "spy" feature (can add to Storch too). These planes could cut engine at 10k and not flash a base or town.
Doodlebugs - can "aim" at towns or cities. Launching sites can be destroyed. Meteors and 262s etc can tip the doodlebug's wings off-course.

How about 6 engines? Ju 390 anyone?

Beaufighter first Red. I understand the reasoning you have for wanting the 25J, but the Beau would fill a bigger hole in my opinion.

+1 PBY Catalina but have it serve a purpose...detecting a CV group from range of 10K, similar how the Fi-156 Storch can see GV icons at greater distance. Make it so the PBY can only launch from Port Bases.

I'd like to see new cockpit art for the Tempest. It looks outdated compared to most other perk rides.

I believe that the Tempest is the last AH1 plane model. So I'm sure that the update process is already underway.

I think something is constantly being addressed in the HTC office. With three people and Dale being the coder, it just takes awhile.
