Thanks to Lyric1 for finding me the info for this skin, which is an adoption of one originally done by Kev367th in 2006.

This Spitfire Mk IX was the regular mount of 11 kill ace Flt. Lt. Desmond Ibbotson of 601 Squadron RAF from July 1944 until his death in November in a flying accident. During this period the squadron was based in Italy and often employed on ground attack missions. Unusually his Spitfire had most of its paint stripped to a natural metal finish, apart from the RAF markings and an anti-glare area ahead of the cockpit.
