Pretty slick.

Perhaps not. End title says you can play it on X-Box.

Definitely not buying an Xbox...or playing a flight sim on a console for that matter! :)

The reviews are dropping today, so you will see it will be available through the Windows store.

Oh boy, that is exciting.

Blew my socks off! Can't wait to fly around the world in this one i've done it in earlier versions. Landing at Mc' Merdo, Antartica was unforgettable. I would plan my flight so I could go to sleep set an alarm and wake up to land. Never touched the date and time settings, I would however change the plane sometimes upon landing. CANT WAIT!

I was only paying partial attention, thought it was video of real life avaition, then realized its the new MSFS, WOW!
The YT video is about 24 hours old and already has over 1 millions views.
I have intel I5 8 gig system ram with gpu of 2g nvidia gt730. Wonder if thats good enough specs.
-
But will it still fly weird?

Wonder if it’ll ever port to steam or host its own servers?

The graphics are outdated, that type of landscapes have been seen since the colour film was invented. Also the terrains are archaic to say the very least and they're tactically illogical as well. Not to mention that the flight modeling seems to allow moves that can't be done with real planes. And all the gauges, switches and knobs! The learning curve must be skyrocketingly steep. If they want it to succeed they'd have to do some heavy advertising on TV channels, so far I've seen none. :old:

I agree.... the mountains looked like they have been around forever.

At least the controllers will be easy to set up.
- oldman (but hey, it's a niche market, probably doomed to failure anyway)

Mabye they'll have a decent damage and systems failure model? Sure it looks purdy and all. But can I have an engine fire? Does it simulate bird strikes? Icing? Tire blowouts?
Been flying from place to place for decades since it was made by Sub Logic. I want some drama! Action! Unruly passengers! Emergency landings! Make it real!

I believe there was a program called FSPassengers a while back. It was interesting, basically just a small add-on where you could "run" your own airline. You made money, could buy fleet planes, etc. In flight you had to do drink and food rounds, movies, cabin announcements, etc. It also added realism where you couldn't drop flaps or gear above a certain speed (would have to emergency land if you did), would get penalized for "overspeed", abrupt movements you could hear passengers scream and that would effect your flight rating.
Much different than what you suggest, but was still cool nonetheless.

Flight Sim RPG would be very cool. Plenty of ideas on how to make ot happen. Quite frankly, flying around from A to B is boring.
-
I haul around alot of goods & passengers in E:D, ATS, ETS2, I wouldn't mind doing similar with that new flight sim... if it will run on my pathetic excuse of an computer

Been using mouse, keyboard, steering wheel, and flight sticks on Xbox for a couple of years. Sure, it required a bit of work but each update and new add on products make it easier than ever.
The advantage of Xbox for online gaming is that it's 10,000 percent harder to hack as compared to the PC platform version of the same game.
Grand theft auto 5 is a good example.
The pc version has lobbies full of modest and hackers while the console versions often make it years before the masses have access to hacks/mods.

It's a myth that games are harder to hack on a console than a PC.
We have banned thousands of players on consoles on our MMO over the years for it.
It is disgustingly easy.

Who cares if MSFS is "hacked"? Fan mod availability can dramatically increase the customer base. The aircraft and scenery designer from the old MSFS 4 made that the best version ever.

There is some question amongst the MSFS third party developers whether or not they're going to be left in the dust with the new version of MSFS.

MS has a history of picking the wrong direction when these decisions come up. Or they initially make a good choice (MSFS 4.0 with the aircraft and scenery designer) only to roll it back which destroys user and third party innovation and kills off the product. Also, any MS product that ends in "365".
They're going to end up with more people stealing subscription keys if they don't make it a product you can actually BUY instead of subscribe to, and it'll get only a limited user base if they don't open it up to third party developers for add-on features like scenarios, terrains, aircraft and cockpits, etc. A full-up aircraft and scenery designer to let people play god and/or amateur aero engineer would be a great move but if I had to bet money on it, I'd wager that they go exactly 180 deg opposite of that.

graphics look good
:aok
-
Ironically, MS Flight Simulator has always had a terrible flight model. I hope to see it more realistic.

Come on! The FSDevelopers will have updated utilities out in a matter of days. This is what they do!
And there is zero indication of a subscription model.
