Title: P-40 wins!
Post by: Slade on June 30, 2019, 08:08:03 AM
Team,

There is good reason "P-40 wins!" and its not cuz I'm a great pilot.

I give everything away.  New and vet players stay longer when they find new ways to enjoy the game.  Here is what I have found in the P-40e:

Pros

Cons

That said the P-40n is better.  AH modeled it really well though (yay!).  The P-40n's improved performance came in many ways by finding ways to make it lighter.  That made it more fragile.  So great for base Defense, not so good around ACK. ;-)

EDIT1: P-40f cool too.  Good guns.   Merlin engine gives it a slight kick. P-40c close to P-40e but guns not as good.  I prefer the better roll rates in the P-40e\n.

EDIT2: My notes page on all planes is here (http://oracledba.help/app/ww2planes/index.php?n=Main.HomePage).

Enjoy!
X15  :salute

I love to fly the P40 once in a while in the MA. It's a tough bird only because it's slow, but if you can take the time to get some alt you will have a fun time! Just have to be extra patient to not get stuck down low.

Thanks.  Sometimes flying Tie Fighters gets old.  I noticed too after spending considerable time in average planes, when you jump back in an LA7 or Spit16 you are even better.  The P-40 and similar planes forces you to squeak ever little bit of performance out of it.  Plus you cant run!

You can make so many mistakes in an LA7\Spit16 and still stay in a fight with THE edge.

Plus...its FUN killing a perky plane in a P-40!  :aok

Sarcasm isn't always obvious, apparently.  :(

I probably have more cumulative seat time in P-40s than anyone.   :joystick:

That crate darn near kilt (sic) him.

And it can damn near kill anyone who flies the skin I made of it in game too.

Must be why I never see it being used.
