Title: Icon bug

Holy crap..

Icons completely disappeared .. I thought I was clear, then .. ping.. bang.. look behind.. damn 109 400 behind me.. then icon goes away, while I'm looking at it.

THat sucked...

Badly.

Finally got to fly blue planes and it was unceremoniously ended..

Damn.

Do you think it was just head position? We have had the icon issues in the past but so far I have not heard anything bad in the last couple of months.

Yeah what happened to Drone was nothing like that issue a couple of months back. IIRC that one was a channel setup with a lot of clouds. Some guys on both sides flew into a cloud with an icon and flew out of it without one. Friendlies couldn't see em either! That was way wierd! Never saw that one!

FWIW we'd run directly into the teeth of the CAP at A70. There was no short supply of red icons from my view!

Oh, I'm positive it is my head position.  It had been so long since I've flown an F6, I spent a little time getting it set up before the event.  On the backward view, I set the position to go through the rear brace, but, it seems, after review, I set it to EXACTLY the wrong depth so that even though I could see through the brace, the game portion that determined icon visibility still thought the brace was blocking my view.  Was playing with it a few minutes ago and by just bumping it forward one or two clicks on the arrow key, the icon issue went away.   :bhead :bhead :bhead

nice job de-bunking Drone.
sucked for you for FSO, but its good it was not an arena settings issue.
