Hi,
Im up for a bit of training if anyone available? Im in Australia (Sydney) and best suited for Friday nights for me, 9pm till 1am (GMT +10 hours). Ive been flying spits mostly for a while but looking to learn something a bit bigger (F4U, Pony etc). I can do Saturday nights occasionally if no other options.

I had to think a bit about the time difference. 9pm - 1am is 5am - 9am my time. 5am is a little early. I usually do an hour lesson so we could fit that in there somewhere. If you could do mornings or midday Saturday that would work too.

Usually on early morn and again late evening. Won't be back on until Friday night or Saturday though. Out of town right now.

I'm available for some training as well.
Trying to do the time conversion stuff hurts my head right now. Warto I'm sure FLS and myself can figure out a way to get you some training.
Flyrc2 I'm sure we can figure something out with you as well. At least you are on the same day as I am. That makes the time conversions easier.
Weekdays don't work for me right now due to my work schedule, but I can do the weekends. I'm west coast U.S.

My Saturday morning is Friday night for Warto so that should work.

One thing I forgot to mention. Aerobatic loops are good to practice for aircraft control but may be a poor choice in combat. When you fly a loop you can get very slow at the top and very fast at the bottom. Also your turn radius while smaller at the top is much bigger at the bottom. You can decrease the difference by tilting the loop instead of going straight up. This keeps you faster over the top and slower through the bottom. Tilting the loop away from the bandit can also give you more turning room but if you both do it you may set up another head on pass.

Ask him to teach you about the “energy egg” and flight path/lift vector in air to air maneuvering. Very useful concepts to understand and apply. :salute

The oblique loop I mentioned is an application of the energy egg concept. Pursuit curves are always part of the basic lesson. :aok
Compare this egg from the Disney movie Planes with the real energy egg. No wonder the kids can't fly anymore. :noid

When going up or down Gravity is adding drag or thrust.
At the bottom of a vertical loop the turn is degraded by radial G.
