Title: CiaFight Map (Non MA at the moment)
Post by: Ciaphas on November 17, 2019, 08:32:14 PM
I am creating my first full map at the moment and it's not going to be for the MA. This will be used as a custom arena map.

I have also decided to stream most of it's development to encourage others to join in on the map making madness that is the TE. I mostly ramble, repeat myself and ramble some more as I roll right along creating.

If you would like to join me you can watch previous streams (3 in total) about this project and continue to watch as I stream them at a few different places.

Yes, I know that is a lot of channels but I prefer to push this game to as many people as I can.

You wished to convert a CBM into an overlay and I suggested you use a splat map. Here is a sample based upon you posted image.
All water is sand, the shorelines are snow, and the regular ground is rough grass. I included the splat legend in case you decide to add topo features.

To use it, start in the middle and draw any elevation above water, and when you cross your snowy shoreline as you've drawn it, obviously you stop at the sand.

In the TE, import splat, Ciaphas.bmp. It's a 32 bit bitmap.

I got Photoshop's .raw exporter to finally work. All is good now.

Thanks man!

Another stream or two will be accomplished this weekend. I have my sons visiting from Vegas for Turkey day.
