There was a post on another thread about the use of Pray not for an end to the slaughter...but for VICTORY!!! It got me to do a word search and it lead me to old WWII Posters and I had a ball. Every country had very similar propaganda slogans and interestingly a lot involved "women". It is interesting to veiw and these are just an example of one from USA, Russia, Great Brtian, Germany, Canada. It just makes you think of the sacrifices the whole world paid. And "Every Country" bore there burdens.

If you think you might be interested in WWII Posters just veiwing them gives you another veiw of what times were like during this time.

Hey Now...I like Miss U.S.A.
Beats the hell out of the crewcut Deisel Dikes of today that wouldn't put a hotdog in the microwave for you after a 60 hour work week unless you had a act of congress!

Sounds like a bad experience to me Creamo?

It's weird how the 'ideal' woman has changed over the years - if that poster was redone now she would be waif with angular cheekbones, a miserable, pseudo-serious look on her face and her 1940s equivalent would be considered fat.
I prefer the old version. ;)
I wouldn't be picking up the bill after dinner with 'Mother Russia'. Couldn't they have made a bit more feminine?

My mom in 1939, taken in London. Shortly after that the family sailed back to the states. She worked on P-38's during the war at the Lockheed plant in L.A. :)

Talking of women, I think its about time AH players realised that some of us women do play. I am constantly amazed with the disbelief I am faced with when I mention the fact I am a woman. Indeed, HiTech himself has a habit of saying "Greets gents" which really gets my goat! I was also told last week when I joined a squad mate as a gunner that the text box which came up said something along the lines of "Flossy would like to join as a gunner - do you accept him?"!!! I know I am not the only woman flying in AH, and I think its about time we were acknowledged as equals to all the other players... :)

I Agree with Helen. HTC can easily do a couple things to make women more welcomed.
I have worked(air warrior) and flown with Helen. She is a great addition to any flight sim. We need her type in this game, as simple as that.
Salute to the Ladies of AH

Good Point Flossy!
Maybe it could be modified to just say:
"Flossy would like to join as a gunner - do you accept?"
BTW I didn't know that the handle "Flossy" belonged to a female pilot. :) Glad to fly with you and I hope there are more female pilots out there.
About the HiTech thing... I always wondered why he didn't come on and just say:
Greets Dweebs!
Then I'd know he was taking to me! :)
Salute,
Thunder

Exactly! No need to say him or her! :)

Thanks... I know of at least one other female pilot in Aces High (there are probably others too) - and there are many more in Air Warrior. As more come here it would be nice if some subtle changes could be made, such as the crew request example above. :D

ROFL! Yeah, I would definitely feel included with that greeting! ;)

LOL! I've started something now, haven't I? Well, that would certainly be appreciated. There may not be many of us in the game yet, but as more women arrive it will give them a much better impression and help them to feel more welcome. :)

Hehe Hangtime.... well, I've been around for a few months now, but this is something that has been niggling me the whole time! I don't really want to "lay the law down", just asking for a bit of recognition and pointing out that not all players are men! <S> :)
