This one is bizarro.
I'm trying to create a set of Offline Missions scaled down to what someone with a mouse only could play.
I have a very simple mission where I spawn in behind some C-47A and use them as target practice. I'm in a Zeke.
At first I thought it was from shooting the C-47A. Nope. I'm not hitting anything. I'm 4000ft mid air.
They are C-47 so they aren't shooting at me.
It seems random when it happens but boom, all my guns are destroyed.
The uploaded mission is : "Mouse Pilot 02 - Get Some"
Attached is a short film of it happening. It doesn't show my damage display visually, but I;m hoping there is debug info in there. All I'm doing is flying along side the C-47 at a safe distance.
It's always just the guns, nothing else.
* I'm flying with only mouse. Related???
* First time I've used the new flag where one flight is set AI only. Related?

:salute
[Edit]
Tried different plane type. Same behavior.
Using Mission Properties flags (in case it matters):
Training Missions Group
Training
Small
Time Short
WWII
Also am attaching mission source.

Truly Bizarre.
Seems to happen usually 30 sec to 1:10 into the flight. But once I went 3 min and it didn't happen and gave up.
It is always just the 4 guns. Nothing else is ever damaged and nothing is shooting at me!
It hooked up my joystick again and tried. Same behavior. So it is not mouse related.
Seems to happen regardless of whether I am maneuvering or flying straight on autopilot.
Seems to happen regardless of whether I have fired the guns or not.
Seems to happen regardless of whether I near the C-47 or not.
Ghosts in the machine.

Please do not change that mission until I have a chance to find the issue.

Got it. Let me know if there is anything else I test on it to help.
My best guess is that it is related to the new AI only flight flag. This was the first one I've tried that on. I have never seen this problem before.
But, I made 5 others with that flag now and no problems. Something odd about this one.

Duplicated

The one intentional design feature and 1 bug one .
There is a fail safe that if you fly to far away (10000 feet) from the flight path in a training mission your engine is killed.
There was a bug that I just fixed that the _KillEngine function was very old code and was destroying the wrong thing I.E. your first 4 hard points which used to be engines.
I Fixed the bug so that it now kills the engine.
You will need to change the flight path to follow the AI planes, or turn off the training flag.

Ahhh. That's funny. :rofl I was so confused.
I'll just take off the training flag.
Side suggestion, when you do something like that just dump a message in the text buffer conveying to the user what happened and why.
Even better have a warning distance threshold where you first put in the text buffer "get back on course or we'll kill your engines!"
Thanks for looking at that.

I had already implanted the first before you wrote this. 2nd is a good idea.

Battlefield does something similar if you exit the play area. They warn you and if you don't get back, the suicide you. :D

Also, I'd consider how that would work if part of a training missions fly along a route until you find the AI and then fight them then return home. Fights can drift all over the place once they start.
Maybe make "enforce formation" a property of individual waypoint segments rather so the design can control?
