Some games provide incentives to simply log in on a daily basis. Candy Crush Saga gives you little power-ups that cycle through every 7 days. Elder Scrolls Online has an award for each day of the month. You log in and get the award, be it an experience scroll, in-game gold..etc.
As silly as this may sound, I am aware that even I will log into Candy Crush or Elder Scrolls Online at least once a day to gather the daily 'award'. Sure, I may soon log off, but I will make that initial effort.
I can't help but think it could be applied to AH as well.
The problem would be what, exactly, can be awarded and/or accumulated that is attractive enough, yet won't adversely impact game play.
The only thing that comes close to a tangible would be perk points, and that, I don't think, is the best answer. Yes, there could be at least one in there.. perhaps 50 perks on the 10 consecutive day you log in. Something that's not too silly.
But what else? Unfortunately, I can't really think of anything that wouldn't require a bit of coding to support. For instance:
- Air-spawn voucher. different increments 10,15,25k alt at field of choice Over your own field it probably wouldn't have that big of an impact on the game ( except for pouncing on vultures.. which is not, necessarily, a bad thing )
- Fuel burn multiplier voucher. 1/2, 1/3, 1/4 of arena setting for burn rate.. so you can outfit your LA-7 at 25% and fly for a couple hours at full throttle
- Ammo loadout bonus. more boomstick without weight penalty
Here, again, nothing that will truly affect game play ( from what I can tell ) .. and these would be a one-time use token. Sure, you should be able to accumulate them, so you're not forced to use them on that day.
So, as an example..
Day 1 you log in and don't get anything.
Day 2 you log in and get a 5k airspawn voucher
Day 3 you log in and get a .75 fuel burn voucher good for one sortie ( until you return to tower )
Day 4 you miss logging in
Day 5 you log in and don't get anything.
Day 6 you log in and get a 5k airspawn voucher
and so on.
And, of course, the order of awards can be rotated on a weekly, monthly, daily basis so it's not always the same sequence.. and you could have a calendar of the upcoming awards so if somebody really, really, really wants the 25k airspawn voucher and they see it is scheduled for the 20th consecutive log in day..
I suppose a voucher for side switching time delay reduction could be included too..
Just a thought.

Improved perk-modifier on the first 3 flights per day. Or 24 hours of having used up one of those.
This doesn't provide any incentive to log in every day but to fly regularly.

-1 to anything that would be an unfair and unknown advantage to an opponent.
Extra perk points would be fine, but a magic LA7 with unlimited fuel and 410 guns would be a bad idea

not the type that will spend the time to learn AH... hell, I've had strokes but I continue
to play!!

I'm pretty sure that there are people as addicted to candy crush as you are to AH.

I'm a programmer.. I know the stuff isn't there now. I don't know how hard it would be to incorporate. Depends on how it's all tied together. Ultimately, it's all 1s and 0s. They could be programmed. It just might take awhile. It's all a matter of priorities. If something were deemed worth the effort, it would happen.
I just tossed this stuff out there as something different to consider. The Combat Operations project had a lot of promise. Missions and career advancement are often a draw for players to measure their progress. Unfortunately, it never made it.

I like this idea as I suck at fighters nut am in almost every day. It might give me some help towards refining skills and maybe getting a couple kills. As per any sucky fiter dude. And would encourage you to log in every day. At present I have 23 fighter perks.

I don't know how hard it would be to incorporate.
And that's the crux.
Over time, I've asked for various things, trying to keep in mind that Aces High is a small shop that spends a lot of time merely maintaining what it currently offers. I'm not a programmer. I figure those that are would be more mindful than I. I've got a rough idea of what could be practically done, given the time and manpower. Very rough. As time goes by, I become more and more conservative in both my wishes and my input on other's.
I think perk points might be the easiest and most practical thing to offer, regarding your suggestion. Small amounts with a maximum (ie: day 2 through 7 = 4 per day then day 8+ = 6 per. Alternate perk types vehicle then bomber then fighter.)

Alternating would between types would be nice, if it gave you the option of where to put those perks would be even nicer. I’d load up on vehicle points.
What counts as a log in, participating in combat that shows up on the score sheet, 10 minutes or simply logging in for 10 seconds?

Perks just pile up without even trying.

Daily rewards for for logging into a game is a common feature in the vast majority of MMO and multiplayer games. The MMO I work on has it and both the online game and MMO I spend most of my time on has daily rewards.
Having daily rewards for logging in is a good idea, it is a way to keep players playing your game.
