Nuttz,
I don't care if you EVER mess with the TE again.  I want you chained to your computer cranking out textures!  Plenty of mechanics who can lay down a field, or fix a coastline.

But when it comes to textures YOU RULE!

Ghosth, I make my tiles in Corelpaint 9, I've been using it since 1986. Knowing what needs to be done with the tiles i can now seamlessly make one in under 5 minutes. Once the main ones are done, the transitional tiles are a snap!!!! Last night i figured out a way to Quickly make a tile COMPLETELY seamless and flow in any direction to eliminate the "boxiness" of the tile. Tonight i hit the "motherload" of info. Anyone use Corel?

Corel makes photoshop look like an 8 pack of crayons( with a few missing)

What programs do you all use?

I see in your post your from Austria.  I study thousands of pictures from the EXACT location i will be doing a terrains for. The tiles of this last post are from studies of the East coast of England, alittle gamma, and color tweeking and they match the color perfectly. I've never been to England ,but from the photos, It should look like my texture ( atleast i hope so)

IMHO an extremely important thing with terrain texture is the size that "landmarks" have on them .. flying myself in RL it's very important to determine hight above the ground, so it's here , and that one seem to have nailed it on the head  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

i guess it's pretty hard getting the texture "scale" right, especially if you're using scans from different sources.

just out of curiosity can you remember the alt you took the pics from ? (i would have guestimated from 2-4k)
