Title: Vote
Post by: ONTOS on February 16, 2020, 02:59:59 PM
Years ago, HT would post a number of planes to vote on and they would make a plane according  to the winner.  HT would do good to take a vote on this message board we have now, to see if the people like it or not. In  the Forums  a few people like it, but on line so far, I've talk with or hear other people talking, no one like's it.

I like it. Glad they turned it back on.

I think allowing players to vote on certain things gives them a sense of ownership of the game. I see no harm in that.

A simple check box to toggle between the new system message behavior and last week's behavior.

hitech do something, hitech does something, no, not that. do something else.

if we were to vote on changes, nothing would get done.

as an example this thread, first i thought it was a vote on new airplanes, then to get rid of one plane. now i have no idea what the vote it's for.

I like it overall. But I'd prefer it was a different t shade of color of your own kills or other host messages

I am talking about letting the players vote on whether to keep the new message board or not.
Title: Re: Vote
Post by: ONTOS on February 16, 2020, 09:14:47 PM
So far there are two or three that like it  according to this forum. However there are plenty of people on line in the game that does not. I say put on the Forum for a week  with a No or Yes ballet. At the end of the week , the most yes votes, you keep it, the most No votes , go back the previous way.

I see no reason why ontos shouldn't ask for this..I mean it's reasonable to ask for something to be added or taken away even tho you can do it yourself with two clicks from your mouse... History has proven that with the removal of cross country PMs because people didn't want to have to click to squelch that player themselves

A main arena vote would be good. I see no point for this every kill shown message announcement. Or Hitech should Make it a second message box that can be toggled on and off. I haven't really seen positive reviews for it in game. If a person kills my friendly and I see him do it. I now know who that enemy is and can adjust my playing style accordingly. I really don't see much how it improves the game or doesnt improve the game tbh. I know a lot of players don't like their names showing up when they die. So I presume it may cause even more timidness.

A real improvement would be to get rid of the stupid  yak3 and minorly park all of these stupid BnZ planes that make for boring easy game play.

I like it, think you find the people that like something aren’t going to talk about it.

It does act like a "motivating factor". Some times without it...the arena looks bleak. When kill after kill is going off the charts-LITERALLY, it is a OK where is this fight at. Might be on another front, but gets you looking JMHO :aok

look at it this way.  pay attention who's killing who and switch if you want.  otherwise switch and find a big darbar full of friendlies.

There are LONG threads on this forum lamenting about how HiTech is letting this game die.  When he makes a change to attract more players AND is even courteous enough to let us know his reasoning the complaining begins anew.

Kudos to HiTech for trying to entice new players to stick around.

Leave it!

One can simply disable it.  No need to be removed from all.  I personally don't like it so I edited it out.
Title: Re: Vote
Post by: mustng2 on February 18, 2020, 12:47:41 PM
It can only be edited out by removing all system messages such as fields taken, hangers down etc.  I vote put it back the way it was or give it a check box in message window settings to allow us to choose or disable the all kills message.

The other messages are useful.  I'd really like it to be on its own channel rather than losing all the other HOST stuff within the spam.

I agree with that. It isnt as much a problem for those using VR, we can drag each window into different places with no issues. Look left for chat, look right for system messages. The Tilde key expands one and shrinks the other...just map a button and bliss :lol

I look at it this way,  all this is doing is promoting Poor Gameplay, in the form of furballin & spawned camping. And if that is the type of sim that the players here want, then it is time for me take my $15 and go other places.

Of all the reasons I've seen people give, this one seems a bit odd.  Regardless of what comes through in the spam IMO people are going to play the way they're going to play regardless.

But, straws and camels I guess.

THIS^^^^ This and I have heard far more of the "Well I hated it at first...but I kind of like it now" than I hear of "This is POO...blah blah". Its change....Yes. Anyone is welcome to state their opinion on this board, as long as they state it respectfully, and don't blow a gasket when I don't do what they wish.
