....make YouTube videos to show in a post, in addition to the link? I see it done frequently, just don’t know how. Thanks!

There's a button that says share near the bottom right of the youtube video.
You copy the text and then use the small youtube icon here and paste it in.
Pasting the address from the address bar doesn't work anymore here.....or most places.

The link from youtube is what you get when you press "SHARE" on you tube selected video.
The youtube code is what you get from pressing the youtube button above. Paste the link between them.

One time I couldn't figure out why I couldn't post a YouTube video on these forums. Turns out there was a banned 4 letter word in YouTube's randomly generated link, and these forums substituted another word for it, breaking the link. I'm not saying that was your problem, but it can and has happened!

Just to reiterate I'll expand on what was already said.
Clicking the share button under the youtube video automatically copies the link to your Windows clipboard.
When you click reply here on the forum a youtube icon appears along with the other stuff above the message window.
Click the youtube icon to put the youtube text in the message window and then right click the message window and select paste. That should put your youtube link into the youtube text in the message window. IF it looks good press preview.

I just hit share, copied the default text https://youtu.be/X-_vh4_4msU in the box then came here and clicked the youtube link and pasted it in the brackets

When you upload your video, on the page it will show you the "link" for the video, to the right of the link is a picture that looks like a paper laid ontop of another paper. Click that to copy the link. Then paste it into the message page here. You dont need to use the "youtube" button here on the boards, just paste the link, it works.

My error was an inadvertent space between the fist bracket and the pasted link. When that space was deleted, the YouTube worked perfectly. Thanks for all the input, gents! :salute
