Heh. My son told me he read something, which I'm paraphrasing:
There comes a time when you will be called on to save the world. Our fathers and grandfathers did this by storming Omaha Beach and the sands of Iwo Jima. Now it is our turn.
We will fulfill our duty by staying home, sleeping late, and playing video games. We accept the challenge.

We have been training our whole lives for this. Don't screw it up people!

So before FSO Friday night there was 197, just after 11PM eastern it dropped to less than half that. Ya thats pretty much normal these days. Less than 100 in the MA after the FSO guys switch arenas isnt a "cool" thing. We need a lot more people.

So if there's 160 in the SEA and around 100 in the MA, that's 250-/+ overall. As an FSO guy, I wish the MA was more like FSO.

Im not an FSO or scenario guy. I just cant find fun in those styles of play tho my squad is one of the biggest in FSO. I really wish the MA would start building numbers. It would most likely build numbers in FSO as well. I just hate to see these threads stating "All is well!" when it really isnt.

I saw a noticeable benefit to this virus shut in thing this past week. Not only lots of players in FSO but lots of players in the MA afterwards and for a few hours until I logged. Had a great fight going the likes of which I haven't seen in a very long time. In recent times I'd hit the MA after FSO and be lucky to find a fight going on at all. This week was a lot like the old days. Hope it keeps rolling after this craziness passes us.

I'm the opposite. I enjoy Event play and typically can't find any fun in MA play.
I don't think this post is an "all is well" thread, It's more of a hopefulness thread that the game is slowly returning to higher numbers.

I'm the opposite of my old friend "Fugi". I like the MA but don't participate as seriously as I do in Scenarios. I usually putz around in the MA. I'm hoping that events numbers pick up appreciably.
From Air warrior to here, although in Air Warrior it was difficult to participate in many scenarios because of my work schedule. Since I've been retired for eight years I now can attend them regularly.
I dumped my subscription awhile back and have recently come back to the game. Scenario numbers were anywhere from 150 to 200 regularly and sometimes larger over ten years ago making them more fun and realistic then they are today. This was great for us history freaks. I just wish more people were interested in special events. Let me say that this is no ones' fault. There just happens to be more gamers then old folks who are attracted to the historical side of a WWII venue air combat genre. I've registered for the next scenario which is more of a squadron sized event now when it used to be an 8th airforce sized event. Larger maps were the norm, many more targets, targets weren't announced and the enemy had to guess where the target/targets would be. The immersion was incredible and because of the size of the event it put one into the circumstances more accurately. Fuel loads etc. were critical. It put one virtually in the WWII Pilots seat if you wanted it that way.
Let's hope that more become interested in events. To do that we have to have more people interested in the history of the air war at that time.
Let's support the designers/CMs' who take their personal time to make these events. If you're strictly a gamer interested in points and kills instead of working as a team to be successful, a scenario won't be to your liking. If you are interested, even though you chiefly play to win the one on one try a Scenario. It's something special to a number of us. It's more then just a game.
Here's hoping.

I like playing FSO when I can, haven't done one in a month but it was fun. Especially when you are squadmates/wingmates with good sticks that shoot you down all the time in the main arena. Scenarios don't happen often but I enjoyed the Me262 bomber AI mission before it ended prematurely :)
If you were in third person on the runway when we were all taking off in Duces it was like listening to a hair dryer at 150 dB
