Title: Sim Racing
Post by: LCADolby on May 16, 2020, 11:36:14 AM
Sim Racing has seem a resurgence in the Corona Outbreak.
Lots of popular games hitting the TV screens but not once have I seen Assetto Corsa Competizione

Which is a bugger because

Not only is the GT3 racing great but it's also rather pretty.

Iracing is the only sim racing that’s worth the money.

I watched some of the F1 guys racing a sim last week or the week before, time flies!

Albon and Leclerc seem just a tad better than everyone else. Not sure what sim they use but some of the setups sure would be nice to have. :joystick:

I’ve watched some GT World Challenge series races on Facebook, they use ACC since it’s the actual series highlighted in game.

F1 is using F1 2020, all the cars and markets the game.

Have enjoyed the Legends series using rFactor.

Personally I don’t put much time into it, so I stick with Forza 7 and Project Cars 2.

Out of all I have tried (all of them) I have spent more time in rFactor 2, so I'd have to go with that one.

Iracing is the only sim racing that’s worth the money.

It's over priced and the physics are naff. They've a very poor tyre model, the real racing drivers are starting to rag on it like I have for the passed.. lord knows how long..

On the other hand rFactor2 has a fantastic tyre model, its the only sim which I've experienced which allows for the Senna Jab throttle style

Raced it have you? What made you come to that conclusion? What would you improve?

I like games with real time damage.

You're going to have to run that by me, does ACC not damage in real time?!

We used to race GP2 with a serial cable between two computers back in 1995.

Fun stuff.

GP2 was a classic, I sunk hours into the game. Geoff Crammond was a genius.

It was one of the first games I ever modded, even creating my own texture for a team and drivers in MSPaint. Literally had all the seasons from 1980 to 2003.

SVGA for the win  :lol

GP@ physics was way ahead of it's time.

I installed "viper racing" and it seems to work on windows XP (not sure about win7 or win10.

Sounds kinda scratchy so I need to fix that but I pulled out a 21 year old driving wheel, hooked it up to a "usb nest", and everything works great.
