Whew, last weeks mission was brutal! The Rooks mounted a serious defense and shot down 100% of the Knight bombers and escort fighters. This weeks mission will be on Friday 05-29-20 in the main arena. Targets will be announced at 1930 here on the BB. The strat run target alt will be 22,000ft. It is really neat to see we are starting to form a core group of bomber pilots who have been flying weekly together I think we are getting into the groove. We are looking to add a few little friends to the group as escorts - if you are interested you can walk on or hit me up in game or here on the BB last week escorts were crucial in keeping away waves of pesky rook interceptors. We will start the mission briefing at 2000 US EST - if you want to fly with the main body of the formation please try to attend, things run a lot smoother when we all up at the same time. This week we might run a second mission at 2200 US EST depending on how many show up. Relevant information will be posted below.
Notice: If any Fighter Squadrons would like to fly escort for the Bombers (Knights) please PM me on the BB or in game and let me know you want in on the fun. Even if only a single squad is willing to escort - the chances of the bombers making it to the target sky rockets.
--Mission Start Times-- Mission #1 Start Time 2000 EST Mission #2 (Not Running)
--Mission Info-- Country: Knights Ch. 177 Air Frame: B17G Ordnance: x12 500lb bombs Fuel: TBD Target: TBD Formations: ON If you have any questions hit me up with a PM on the forms or in game.
If you are a regular and would like to be added to the expected weekly roster let me know!
PS:
Mass missions like this are what what make Aces High so unique and keep me paying my monthly tribute to Hitech. If we can keep growing out missions (of any kind) to something of an "dude this looks crazy!" scale we might just rope on a few more people. I personally sit on the fence, but as stated above the potential scale of combat is unrivaled and keeps me on the hook. <S>FBTrev95/Riftval

I'll try to make it. I fly mostly B-17s, always up for at Strat Mission.

I'll try and make it as well. B-17s or fighter escort, either works for me, thanks!

Was an escort for this sortie, was a blast, probably the best one to date.

Flew in this last night for the first time. Our formation got attacked repeatedly by some determined interceptors but most of our group made it home with the help of our escort fighters. Was a well planned mission, and a boatload of fun. Looking forward to the next one. Will be even better with more pilots on both sides! :aok

Agreed on all! The multiple 262 intercepts (and the 163) were harrowing, but we successfully swatted most of them down or they ran off smokin’ :-) Although my comical barrel roll at the end resulted in a busted wing and no landing, that was surely a really fun run. Thanks Trev!

My wife and I went fishing and got home just a few minutes late so i missed the pre launch briefing. I took 50% fuel instead of 75%. After successful defense and bombing targets the return trip looked promising for landing. Alas, my copilot realized we didn't have enough gas to get home. I let him ride the lead bomber down as I jumped into a wonderful new drone bomber that just kept following us everywhere we went. Well the Second Lieutenant didn't figure the gas in that bird either. (Never trust a butter bar, lol). The pony behind me couldn't tell a B-17 from a Junkers 88 then proceeded to shoot me down as I glided down to Mother Earth. (Another butter bar, lol). So there I was in a cartoon tower.
Love to see smoking 262s and 163s.
