I assume when you squelch someone they don't know it?
If that is the case maybe they get a message that you have been squelched by 1 player. Have the message continue as other players also squelch you. 2 players,3 players ect.
This way someone knows if they have vox problems(static, too loud ect.). Or if they are being an arse maybe after a few messages they may get it. Some will not of course but it might help?

I'd expect most guys that are showing their backsides would just get angrier and louder with that, kind of like when they get muted and start yapping at the mods when it wears off. Still think permasquelch would be the lesser of the evils.

I thought Frodo liked seeing guys back sides? Boy 2020 is definitely bizzaro world.

This games community has gone soft. Must be the old age.

If they had a vox problem you could tell them in chat or Private. Getting told you have been squelched without a reason may hurt some feelings.
People may take an issue getting squelched just because other people don't like their text or voice.
I had some player tonight, who's name I don't remember, get a little upset with me because I asked if a base needed a resupply run, I told him if it bothered him he should squelch me. I didn't need a text telling me he did so, however He say it wasn't his style ... so I just squelched him. If I wanted him to know I squelched him I woulda told him before I did.
If your a liberal and start talking politics on voice or text I'm gonna squelch you.
Not sure if a person can still see your text or not after you squelch them but honesty I don't think it really matters.
I would settle for a persistent perma squelch that stays on until I turn it off.
There are some people in the game I would rather never ever want hear or see their text ever again in my lifetime would be nice if I didn't have to squelch them every time I check into an arena.
Lets say HiTech Goes soft and lets a certain lowlife back into the game that likes to try and hijack squads and then when he or she doesn't get their way they copy said squad to tarnish their name. I would never ever want to hear that persons voice or see their text ever again in my lifetime. If I had my way they wouldn't be allowed to breath the same atmosphere.

gee I wonder where that came from?!! LOL!!!

Easy enough to squelch someone. But my idea was to maybe help some to understand what was going on not to make them mad.
Bug fishing slow right now? Fishing in here is dangerous with all the sharks. :devil

my issue online is colorful language. If I encounter it repeatedly from someone I squelch. I dont care if they know . I have no patience for such, takes away from the game .
-
How about a permanent squelch. This way I do not have to squelch the same guys every day.
-
Permasquelch would be nice.

If a player knows they have been squelched then they will log off and log back on again. That would end the squelch. The current system
works as no one knows they have been squelched and do not get offended.
My two cents

I've been banging the permasquelch drum for years, unfortunately HT doesn't like it because it prevents the mending of fences. If it's going to be permanently temporary (heh), it would be REALLY nice if my squelches didn't reset until I logged instead of the other guy relogging getting around it.

Or every time they log off then back on.

What Wiley said.

I can see this:
Beavis: Hey Butthead, I got my squelch count up to 43 this afternoon. Beat that!!!
ButtHead: Hey Bevis, I'll be on tonight, I bet I have more than 50 by midnight!! :neener:

YES!! Shuffler's incessant talking on squad vox about prunes and Metamucil and "when I went to school it was 10 miles uphill BOTH WAYS and I shared 1 pair of shoes with my 8 brothers and sisters and I WAS THANKFUL!" is mind numbing.

I swear a lot. I berate myself a lot. I am the John McEnroe of Aces High. I really have no intention of doing it on range but it seems to be a Pavlovian defect that when I speak the range button is pushed. I know it irritates some-to-many, and I occasionally get a speech from those who get irritated. So I think I'm qualified to say...
1) Save the speeches and just Squelch me.
2) I don't need to know about it.
3) If it shows up as a message in the HOST buffer, fine. It should only be seen by the person who was squelched and not be broadcast to the whole game. That will have a neg impact on 200 traffic. But no screen pop up-ups like the JOIN menu because then it becomes a weapon.
4) Tune to yourself to check your Vox.
