Title: Perks Option for Veteran Players
Post by: Slade on July 04, 2020, 12:22:54 PM
Hello,

WISH:
Award more perk points for veteran players to fly high ENY planes.  Perhaps those flying over a year.

WHY:
1. Encourages the use of more diverse planes.
2. Gives new players a greater chance.  You might not have as many veterans flying around in LA7s, Spit 16s etc..
3. Which in turn invests in new players becoming longer term AH members.

EDIT: Basically this wish gives incentives for vets to not fly perky planes all the time.  There may be many more incentives like this where a vet does not lose anything in making the game better for everyone.

Thank you,

X15  :salute

It would only make perk farming for veterans easier.

We do need incentives to fly less competitive planes. I dont know what would work. For me I might like to see some rmore historical achievements after aces etc much like the ones we currently have. Maybe give each plane a historical record to match? Been flying the p40E this tour after the p51 last tour and its damn near impossible to catch anyone.

Everyone gets more perks flying older planes already.

Ah, but the plane of the day should earn a bit more. ;)

This.

The post is meant to facilitate ideas for this.

As is the norm, things like this rarely ever work like you think they would. Some folks fly those LW monsters and not much else. It might have a little effect but people are weird like that.

To much complaining on this forum. Instead of slamming ideas into the ground we should actually research them, even if we decided later to do nothing with them. That is up to HT.

Thank you for sharing X15

If you mean the planes should cost the vets more perk points to fly than a newbie - I agree

I have more fighter perk points than I can honestly ever spend as I am rarely in a perked bird

Have to be much more patient in the MA with a p40, especially when you don't have a group of friendlies to bail you out. Extremely tough against 3 yak3s and 2 la7s. Makes the game much more challenging.  Being successful in the MA in older slower planes, is the epitome of being really good since you actually have to fight your way out.

how is the game supposed to know how old the player is?

Perks should be tied to monthly ranking where #1 fighter pilot is limited to early/mid planes the following tour with say anyone ranked under 100 is also very heavily perked to fly anything but the least perked planes

hell no, I don't play for score, but sometimes I'll rank below 100. take away my pony with anything other than eny and i can assure you, I'll be crashing planes left and right on runway till i make sure I'll rank 1,000,000. or I'll just quit.

i do my weekly fso where more than likely i fly planes i don't want to fly and that's as far as I'll go.

you all must looking to get rid of some players-something like this would do it. people pay to play and fly/drive what they want. the plane i have a problem is the yak3, but it can be countered.

or with all due respect, nobody stops you from flying high eny, just like i don't force you to fly low eny planes.

and I'm way too old to be called snowflake. i prefer old and cranky, I've earned that.

The problem is always going to be the part where the veterans cash in those perks;

A veteran in perpetual 262 or Tempest.
