My current mic for vox in AH is not very good.
I need a stand alone usb mic on my desk just for good quality comms in game. My current Klim does not project enough volume when I speak. It needs to sit on desk about 18" away.
Any thoughts?...Thanks Bixby.

The Mic on the HyperX Cloud and Cloud alphas is pretty good another option is a dedicated usb mic like a blue yeti.

It just so happened when I decided to get a half decent headset for both my son and me, that Best Buy had these on sale for something like $40 each. So, I bought them. Overall, I have been very happy with them. The work equally well with the motherboard's onboard audio chipset or the provided USB adapter. I have never had a good mic, but I have had very bad ones. This one is not a bad one at all. My son is very happy with the results for his online games.

If I am reading Bixby's post correctly he's not looking for a head set but a stand alone mic.
Sorry Bix, I've never had much luck with desk top mics. The Blue Yeti Mayhem suggested looks like it might do what you need, but it ain't cheap.

Yes I have never used a desktop mic. I sit too far away. You can get a boom for them though.

On Amazon you can look up "Fifine Podcast Microphone USB" which should suit your needs. I've never tried one, but I see no reason to be concerned.
It also has the ability to pug your headphones into it and monitor the mic. Not something you would use while playing, but useful just the same.

Thanks for all the responses. SIK1 read my post correctly.
Picked up a Maono AU-902 on Amazon for $59. Works well. All my "mic checks" in game were 5/5 and when tuned to myself I am pleased with volume.
Thanks again.
