P-40F of the 68th Fighter Squadron, based on Guadalcanal in January 1943. This aircraft was used for several months by a few different pilots. Reference photos of "White 208" show at least three versions of the white stripes used for IFF. I chose to depict it with the earliest version - a single white band around the fuselage. Later, stripes would be added to the upper and lower wings, crossing over the engine cowling. Later still, stripes would be added to vertical and horizontal stabilizers. The shark mouth was seen from the earliest photo and all of them with the red portion in a shade that seems lighter than one would expect.

Nicely done, sir, as usual.

Beautiful work, Devil505.
I didn't even know P-40Fs operated in the Pacific - thought they were just in the MTO.

Yeah, there were a couple of fighter groups that had them. The 18th and 347th I know of for sure.
I already skinned a 18th FG P-40F.

Thanks.
I had to make that one based on the name alone. "Destitute Prostitute"

I take it the pilot was not fan of the Warhawk?

Have you done #234 from Pearl Harbor?

Have you done #234 from Pearl Harbor?
No, but I did George Welch's #160 on the C model. That was the plane he flew at Pearl.

Oh, yeah. I remember that one.
234 has quite a history. It's the only P-40 from the raid still in existence and is now in flyable condition.
