P-39Q of 68 GIAP in late 1944. Pilot unknown. 68 GIAP operated as part of the 1st Baltic Front beginning in 1943, participating in the operations to liberate Leningrad, the Baltic states, and Belarus. In late 1944, they transferred to the 3rd Belorussian Front and fought in the offensives to capture East Prussia and Poland.
This skin is an adoption of Fencer's original. He was also kind enough to provide me with his P-39 templates, which mine evolved from. In tribute, I elected to retain Fencer's selected shade of OD green on this skin.
This aircraft also features blue and white markings in a pattern typical of it's parent Guards Fighter Aviation Division(5 GIAD) in 1944. The other regiments in 5 GIAD used white(28 GIAP) and red(72 GIAP) spinners and tail bands.
Most profiles of this plane show a light blue, but the single reference photo of this plane shows a shade of a medium brightness. I elected to use Soviet A-10 blue, typically used for painting parts for aircraft oxygen systems, as the blue shade here.

Your work is truly great. I’ll compliment this one in particular. Makes me want to fly P-39s.
