Title: 2 maps for comment
Post by: popeye on October 12, 2020, 08:14:41 AM
Uploaded two new maps:  Reefs and Badlands.  Not sure if they are MA-worthy, or if there is room in the rotation, but still interested in comments.

Reefs is a "big center lake" style map, and gets the name from the tiny islands protecting the center vbases.  Fleets can get close enough to launch LVTs, but still require a short flight by supporting aircraft.  The center vbases spawn to the ports as well as to the center GV "playground"  They also would have some Early War fighters enabled for defense and furballing.

Badlands is a "big island" style map with perimeter bases for ships to attack.  The center furball bases are designed to be easy to defend or re-capture with GVs.

Thanks for having a look.

You can download them in the game from the opening screen, "CHOOSE TERRAIN", then view and fly them from, "OFFLINE PRACTICE".  (At least I think they are available to everyone.)

With badlands, what if one of the CV spawns was on the opposite side of the map? Would make for fun raids.

Yes agree.  I worked on that for a while but couldn't find locations with balanced access to both enemies' fields.

What about off the coast equidistant to the 2 opposing country fields?

Looks like good maps! Base distance doesn't seem too far which I think is the biggest thing we can do to keep fights going. 12-15 miles max distance.

Not too big either. I think that is good. This keeps the fights going rather than allow players to be disbursed all over the place. I like that. It keeps the fights big and compact.

I wish you could make that lake a tad bit smaller but its really no biggie.

Id love to see these maps encorperated into the rotation. I am about tired of only playing on Crater and BowlMA most of the time as they are so big that stay up for days.

Would love to see them added and a few like Grinder done away with. Some just don’t make sense with less than 50 ppl on

Nice looking maps but why do all the new maps have all the strats located in the corners bundled up? Most important part of the game is to attack strats. It makes it hard to attack them and it turns the game into a furball. When the teams horde it doesn't matter but when rooks have 6 guys on they need the downtime advantage to take bases, the main objective of this game.

So far, my map in the MA rotation (Northco), with similar strat placement, has only lasted a matter of hours when it is played.  So, there doesn't seem to be a problem taking bases.   :D

Well, it's next in rotation.  As soon as 17 bish can take one field from 6 rooks it will be online.

If you weren't wasting time here, you would see it.   :D
