CH is giving me fits on my new machine. I always used the software for my setups. On my new machine I have issues being able to load my setup. If I do load it, and it works.... the next time I fly MSFS2020 it quits.
I tried just mapping in game and the next time I start game, it is all gone.

If you are using Windows 10, in the search field enter "store". This will bring up the Microsoft store, close the app/window when it pops up. Now you will be able to open Control Manager and load a .map file without problems. You will have to repeat this process whenever you play AH or any other game.

I ran into this too Shuff. First, what AKAK says. MS Store app conflicts with it somehow. I just disable it so it doesn't run at startup. You have to have control manager, I think it's v4. 55a for it to work in Win10. Others won't work. That was the last version they put out specifically so it'd work with Win10.
Process is open the program. Set it to "off" mode. Load a profile. Hit download. Click on "mapped" mode. Exit. Should work now. Not using that sequence may grey out your off/direct/mapped buttons and only a system restart will cure it. It's squirrely in Win10. Had me pulling my hair out til I found that sequence on another forum.
Oh and chances are it won't remember the profile next time you start your PC. You'll have to do that every time.

Ahhhh ok.... umm uhh.. WHO's On FIRST????
:rofl Thanks fellas!! I'll try that. My old system was too lazy to have issues lol
-
On another site I also saw where they said to go into device manager and untick box in power management.
First thing I did was reinstall my Ch software. It is 455a. It then fully recognized my gear again.... which it was not doing as it had before.
I'll be trying the other things yall suggested. I do not think it likes when I play AH and then switch over to fly MSFS2020.
-
Yeah you're gonna have to go thru that sequence in my other post every time you switch profiles. Can't just switch em like before. No biggie as it's just a few extra clicks but I've messed it up switching games too.

I was up in AH last night and made FSO. Thanks fellas!!! I even flew in MSFS2020 awhile but the fighter stick is not ideal for that.
-
OK Now I load and pedals, throttle work fine. All the buttons and hat work on Fighter Stick.... but will not move ailerons or elevators.
Tried reloading, calibrating.....

Make sure the axis have been assigned in AH.

They have... but do not register anything when I move the stick.
The stick works in MSFS2020 with no control manager.
-
Check it in CH manager. Try to calibrate there. Odd how it had been working but now it's not.

I did calibrate in CH. Worked fine in the software. Does nothing in the AHIII.
-
Does nothing as in the numbers don't change in AH map controllers? That's odd. If the numbers ARE changing make sure the axii are actually assigned to pitch and roll.

Numbers do not change for stick X and Y. All buttons work.
-
Man that's weird. Usually the deal is if windows sees a controller, AH will make use of it. Numbers for the axii change in control manager but not in AH. That's a new one.

Yes....
I just got it working. Had to delete the ch gear and the devices after unplugging. Then plug in, reboot, go through the step opening store. It all worked. Then numbers showed in game and I calibrated.
-
Shrug. Prolly some update hosed it for ya. Glad it's sorted out.

Definitely weird stuff.

Every time I start my machine I have to go through a mess to get CH gear working is AH. I usually just give up.
On the flip side, I am building two new machines for the shop. You just can't find any decent pre-built out there right now. Folks bought them up to work from home.

Might have something else that'll help. What happens is windows has a tendency to lose track of the CH stuff for whatever reason after a shutdown. None of my other controllers do this, BTW. I picked this tip up from the old CH forums years ago. There's a little program that'll help.
Look in your CH folder for an exe called CMStart. On my PC it's in Program files(86)/CHProducts. Put CMStart in your startup folder so it runs when windows starts. On startup it'll run, you'll hear the ka-ding like something just connected (because it did). It just runs momentarily and reconnects things. Your controllers should be there now. This does not mean you won't have to go in and reset the profile for them in CH Control Manager! Unfortunately, you'll still have to go thru that. As you saw last week in FSO after telling you how to do it I forgot! Wondered why my engine wasn't starting! Duh!
I think it's just a Win10 thing. When I had Win7 I never had to reset the profile, it always remembered what I had set it to last and it didn't change unless I went into CM and changed it. Now I have to go in every time and set it. It is what it is. Once VKB comes out with their throttle, it'll be a thing of the past for me.
-
Yup... CH was great in the day but garbage now.
-
I still use my CH throttle and pedals with win10 and have no issues. I use AH for all mapping and havent bothered with the CH program in years. Are you guys still trying to use the CH programming?
-
Ditto what Fugi said
-
Only thing about NOT using it is no macros so that means no dot commands. Typing for me is a major pita in VR so I'll take hitting a button over that. CHCM is fine in Win10, it's just about getting it set up. Once that's done, other than having to apply the profile before playing, its same as it ever was. I don't have any problems with it. The VKB software for my stick is way more complicated but super powerful. Even so with both stick and throttle I have MOST of what I need mapped within AH.

I discovered tonight that I can disconnect or connect anything USB and it will work. To wierd and funny.
