Title: X-56 Rhino Price
Post by: 100Coogn on November 23, 2020, 02:34:43 PM
How are the X-56 Rhinos' so expensive?  The cheapest I've found is $359.00
Are they really worth that much?

I got mine from the manu a few years ago, it was 200 bucks.  at the time I thought it was a steal, lots of buttons, nice heavy and would take a beating.  they dont sell it directly except to distributors who also want a big cut. been like that for a year or 2.

They go for around 250 euros in my part of the world i.e. Netherlands which is around 300 dollars.
I've been looking at flight sticks and HOTAS or hotasses? in general during the past few months and a price increase of roughly around 25% is noticeable.
T16000M for example sells for minimum 80 when it was 60.
Higher end stuff has less margin but prices are definitely higher across the board.

I remember when you could find a Logitech 3D Pro for about $25.00 on Ebay.  Now they're $45.00 or more.   :joystick:

MS Flight Sim is what drove through pices up and created a shortage.  With the pandemic, a lot online and brick and mortar stores had a tough time resupplying their stock because most of the sticks are made in China.

the rhino sticks went up in price when the manu stopped selling them to the public.  that was before the covid thingy.  tried to buy 1 last year they were 300+.  now price is even higher due to the trump wars.

Seems a lot of folks do. I have CH gear. It is all getting long in the tooth and 8 bit. Will have to make a move in the not too distant future.

We have been selling the new Honeycomb units at the office. Our first order was for 786 units. They came in on a Friday and by noon on Monday, all had been sold. We now have 1600 units coming in over the next month and have nearly 300 sold as pre-orders.

One customer bought 50 and I know he is one of the people selling what should be a $250 unit for much much more.

Same thing the scalpers are doing to the new Nvidia 3000 series.
What a shame.

As long as stupid people buy the., there will be stupid people scalping them.

Now they are saying that Radeon's release is turning out to be even worse that Nvidia.
