Title: The Falcon
Post by: Greebo on December 29, 2020, 06:50:42 AM
Thank you to Lyric1 for finding me the info for this skin.

"The Falcon" flew as part of the 466th Bomb Group's 785th Bomb Squadron who attacked strategic targets in France and Germany from mid 1944 until the end of the war. On the 8th January 1945 returning from a mission over Germany it ran out of fuel as it was about to land and had to be belly-landed into a nearby field. The crew escaped but the aircraft was written off.

Thanks guys.

I draw everything on the skin but to ensure accuracy with complex nose art I use a scaled photo as a guide if I can. So in this case I adjusted the close up photo of the falcon that Lyric1 found me using skew, perspective and resizing tools to get it to appear "square on" and the right size and then pasted this into the file. I then drew the falcon above this photo using four or five layers, one colour per layer.

Of course its a Falcon, not an eagle,  awesome work.
