Title: VR is on the way.
Post by: Mayhem on December 31, 2020, 08:14:50 PM
I just got a tracking number it appears I'm going to be the proud owner of a Valve index in less than 2 weeks. I was really leaning towards a g2 but a lot of people have issues with them and it takes a really High end Video Card to push it like a 3080 which is almost impossible to get without doing sexual favors for a scalper .... So I went with an Index ... I think Valve still has the over all best VR game in town and they will eventually put out an updated head set in the next few years by which time I have hopefully upgraded my aging GTX1080ti.

Congrats!

My vive pro was pushed by a 1070 card just fine in AH3 when I first got it 2 years ago

Your accuracy should go through the roof

Enjoy!

I dunno, it ran hot and heavy on my head, so I ended up returning the Valve Index.  I will be trying the G2 and hopefully it is better.  For a $1,000 price tag, I really expected more....

The G2 was lighter than my vive pro but too small for my mr magoo glasses

When it becomes hot and heavy I know I have been playing too long and should do something else :)

Could you not get fitted prescription lenses? They usually take up way less space, and are way more comfortable.

I tried but the $170 lenses from overseas were not correct
which did not surprise my eye doc who stated my vision is so jacked he would be very surprised if they could even get close.

I got some high dollar lenses from overseas with an extreme prescription and blue blocker and mine are perfect. Filed under YMMV.
