For no reason, my game will randomly freeze. It could be good for a few days, and then freeze several times in an hour. No rhyme or reason. I know that win 7 is recommended, and I have 10 but run in compatibility mode with 7. My hardware list is older, but, it doesn't have much time on it. It sat dormant for 8 of the 10 years since I bought it new. Drivers are up to date. Thoughts?

Hey man, long time no see.
I'd try running in DX9 rather than DX11 if you haven't already. It may work better for older hardware. Win 10 should be totally fine. What are the specs of the computer?

Damn long time. Hope all is well!
I7-970 cpu
Gigabyte g1.geurilla mobo
Xfx 6870
12gb g.skill sniper ddr3

Yep, your computer is a bit old but the video card is the weakest link there for AH3.
I wouldn't bother with compatibility mode although it shouldn't hurt either. Try with normal, though, to see if that helps fixing the issue.

Clean the dust out and check the fans lately?

AWESOME!!! Seems a lot of Folk I missed out with are coming back? :rock :rock :rock :rock

Cleaned it all dust free before I booted it for the first time.
Silly question how do I change from dx11bto dx9? Looked through the options in game and through the properties menu from my desktop and saw nothing.

If you downloaded the game, you should have a Dx9 exe. and a Dx11 exe. sleect the one you wish to use.

Where do I find this?
I loaded the game up in its default location (I didnt pick a place on a drive to install the game) and mine is here.
C:\Hitech Creations\Aces High III
If you right click on the desktop icon and select "properties" the "target" location will be there. Change the 11.exe to 9.exe and apply/save it and the icon will load the DX9 version of the game.

With Win10 look at your start menu and DX9 and DX11 are both listed.
