Title: Sad to see Fry's close all of their stores
Post by: Mano on March 04, 2021, 06:18:31 PM
If  you have a Fry's in your area they will be liquidating everything and closing for good.
I have built a lot of computers in the past buying parts from Fry's. They literally have everything
in the way of computer components for a really good build. Online retailers like Amazon are killing
retailers left and right. There are no other stores in my area like Fry's. Nothing even comes close.
Between SARS Covid 2  and online purchasing it has become very difficult for many stores to stay in business. I wonder how much
longer the online retailer Newegg will last. Amazon (Prime) beats everyone in delivery time and price. Even returns
are easier than every other online retailer. Maybe the pendulum will swing the other way and retail
stores will make a come back. Only time will tell. I prefer to go into a store and see what I am buying.

Dang. Wish I had know before they were closed so I could have shopped some deals. The ones in DFW area appear to already be closed down.

They all closed last week suddenly. I posted last week when it happened. They have pretty much already been closed the last few years as they were so poorly run towards the end.

Best Buy will be next. While I see a lot of foot traffic inside, their service is terrible in the stores. At least their website is better than Fry's was, maybe that will save them?

It’s no wonder the Amazon owner has like 300 billion. The systems works

Amazon is ok but you have to watch the prices. They can be way overpriced on some things.

Brick and mortar stores have a limited shelf life

Who wants the hassle when you can get it next day if not same day to your door?

Still nice to check out what you are buying before buying it. So the brick and mortar still have their place.

Closed my Amazon account for good as did many others. Easy just to go directly to online retailers though you will wait slightly longer for delivery. It's OK I can wait or check out the local hardware store where I find bargains like no where else.
