Title: Dr7 Memorial Video
Post by: RichardDarkwood on March 06, 2021, 10:53:38 PM
Big salute to all who showed up for this event. Someone said dr7 had over one million kills in this game we play. It was like herding cats getting 46 players from three different countries who normally are shooting and cussing one another in the Main Arena to form up DR7 on the runway. The flyby was amazing.

The best part was the sh*t show it turned into with the kill shooter being turned off and the VH being camped.

As Toddbobe said

Dr7 is looking down on all of us so he has the high ground now.

Rest In Peace David Tinney aka Dr7

It was an Honor to participate, and the least we could do for a great competitor and a fellow Aces High alumni.  :saluteDR7

This was AWESOME! Only the second time to fly in one of these!  They spelled out DR7.....Thanks Donkey Butts.....my Pipes Burst. :embarrassed:
I couldnt help but to reflect on my First Memorial Flight! It was fairly recent, I filmed it(because of this), just havent found the film yet. ANY WAY....Lots of Bombers, with escorts from ALL 3 TEAMS...was awesome! The memorial is winding down, and a Spit IX shows up....and commences to kill the Bombers as they were landing  :rofl :rofl :rofl  YUP...the Legend himself...DR7 :aok   Since he didnt tune to Ch 200, he had no clue that they were doing Memorial Flight! IT WAS HISTERICALY FUNNY! What better way to fight back tears? YUP Laughter!!!! Surely one of you guys remember this?

Darkwood, Thank you very much for organizing the dr7 Memorial. The Memorial was well done and you showed great patience in "Herding Cats".  The efforts produced some great video and it was a wonderful tribute to dr7 from the Aces High community.  I am sure dr7's son Brian and his assembled family appreciated the Memorial.

It was my true honor to participate.  I was one of the few, within the community, that knew dr7 aka David R. Tinney personally.  We not only shared geography of sorts, we unfortunately shared and a lot of life's major disappointments.  Those shared experiences are what brought us together and gave me the opportunity to know the man.

As Toddbobe said, "Dr7 is looking down on all of us so he has the high ground now."  I am sure he is.

Salute <S> my friend,   :salute

I just set up the arena. At9bucks was the cat herder and Sally put together the flyby and Getting that many players to form Dr7 on the runway took a lot of patience although Bucky had plenty of assistance.

Was the best memorial I have been a part of in this game yet.

Fighters on the run way (a base away - staging for flyby)

Tanks on the run way to spell out DR7:

Fly over. So many Vehicles and planes, so some of the tanks got culled (the 7) from being rendered.

About 105? 110? people participated.

Cat herding

More like someone made everyone in the full bingo hall stop what they were doing and go outside to form a D a R and a 7.

DR7 taught me 90% of what I knew about GVing. He loved the T34 because, back in the day (04 -05ish) you could spawn one in and get it out of the hanger, have the turret spun around and killed the hanger camper before they ever seen you appear.  And if you bounced, 9 out of 10 times the camper was a panzer and would just bounce off of your turret. DR taught me that after killing me around 50 times one night. From that night on him and I would always hook up and go camp some poor bastards. Joey04 and JMFJ would come along.
If he died GVing, he would always keep coming back until he killed the very person that got him. In the old TT I would always park beside him because I knew he had the best spot and so I could watch everything he done. Out of all the years and thousands of sorties him and I done together, I NEVER heard him get upset. He always chuckled about whatever happened.
But the conversations were always the most important thing to me. Ill for sure miss that guy. I can still to this day, hear his chuckle.
