Title: Terrain Bridges
Post by: JimmyD3 on April 07, 2021, 05:21:59 PM
Man what a pain in the kazoo, been working on 1 bridge all afternoon. Still don't have set up where I can drive over it.  :bhead

Yes.  Took me a LOT of trial and error to get a bridge working.  I used the path tool to route a river over a terrain valley set to 20 feet.  Then installed a "bridge0a" over the river.  Be sure to set it, "can collide" or you won't be able to drive on it.  Took me a while to figure that one out.     Then blend the ends of the bridge into the terrain to make a smooth ramp to drive up.

You can see the result on the center island of "Crags".

Hope this helps.  Let me know if it isn't clear.   :salute

Thanks for the advice Kong, I have used them on another map and didn't have any major issues, this one however is kicking my hind end.  :frown:

Do you use the river path tool, or "excavate" the terrain down to water?  I couldn't make a smooth edge by excavating a narrow river.  I think it has something to do with minimum polygon size.

Why drive when you can fly? :D
