Title: Ship guns and their kill messages

I was wondering about the amount of guns knocked out and associated kill messages generated after bombing or strafing ships. For example does knocking a quad 40mm display itself as 4 separate guns knocked out? Or are the kills one per unit. Not like 2 guns for a 5 inch  and so forth.

Pretty sure it's 1 gun, it's all contained in one emplacement manned by 1 person.
