What's your favorite map, and why?

Anyone care to post a list with pics of the maps? Or is there a place to go to see all of them? Sometimes I cannot put a face to the name or forget the names.
Thx!

Here you go. I like Baltic, Mindnao and Northco because they a real-world locations, and Buster's maps (FjordMA, Oceania, Riftval) for the realistic terrain features and crossable bridges. Least favorite maps are Buzzsaw and SmPizza.

I think it would be cool if the maps could be more different from each other. I know we can do snow terrains and different tree types (palm vs mixed hardwoods) but I'd like to see special buildings or objects unique to the terrains (Old World cathedrals vs Oriental Palaces, for example). Hydro-electric dams, waterfalls, etc would be pretty cool features.

Mindanao,
Always seems to generate some huge three way fight in the area of a2. Gv guys don't care for it, not sure why.

Northco
:aok
-
NDIsles
Usually good fights to found on the center island.
-
Compello, Trinity, large map with a lot of ocean and some islands in center that I no longer remember the name too.
I like those maps because you had to put in some time to reach the strats, and they were not up a 163 base's arse. I know why they were pulled, but doesn't mean they still are not my fav's. :)

Great map all around. One of my favs. CV battles, a place where all 3 teams can meet, excellent base layout. Wish some bases were closer tho.
The east side of Baltic really has some great fights. One of my favorite sections of any map.
Crazy to see all of the maps. Thanks for posting, Oboe!
Can't tell ya last time I've flown one of those new maps. Fjord, montis, ritftvall, Northco... never see them on the weekends. Northco and fjord look cool tho just haven't played them much.
-
ND Isles
And if I am lucky ..northco..the latter is a good American wee hours of the morning map..alas it is not there much at that time... I think 3 times since it was introduced j

CraterMA
The fights at v150 are as good as it gets when you have 20-30 people in that little bowl with just enough mountains to confine everyone. Yet even with just a handful of skilled players this tiny little vbase with 2 guns has to be the cream of the crop. The ground game is a lot of fun there too but I prefer to gunship B-17's and bomb**** to pad a score :aok

Pizza and Buzzsaw, because they piss off the player base more than I ever could :D

The old maps are first, NDisles, baltic then Mindnao. There is always something going on on these maps, maybe not the action Im looking for but at least they have action. I think I would put BowlMA in this group too.
I dont think I have ever had a chance to play Fjord, Oceana, or Northco. All three look interesting.
The rest are ok, Crater and buzzsaw should be retired for now unless the trees could be removed from the crater to bring back that GV area of crater back.

I *think* Buster's maps have micro-terrain features which are especially good for GV combat. In the older maps, terrain elevation changes are at a larger scale, so the terrain is less undulating. AFAIK it was Buster who made bridges (outside of the ones in towns) crossable.
I seem to have FPS problems in CraterMA - it cuts my FPS in half from 90 to 45. I have to disable shadows on that map. I think its related to the type of clouds.

It's the ultra large bases with the integrated towns. Any time I'm near one, my frame rate drops to being useless.

Heres what CraterMA looks like right now at 12:30 est, #s actually dropped from this morning about 10 players. Action is just too spread out.

The reason most players aren’t seeing Northco is because it gets rolled in 6 hours or less.
It’s a great map, just wish somehow it doesn’t get rolled so fast/easily. :(
On a lot of maps with CVs and sea battles Knights don’t defend their bases, but Northco doesn’t have CVs so I’m not sure what the solution is…

It could probably use a couple of more bases on each side along the skinny routes. I can't even tell you if I've ever played that map.

What if instead of just rotating maps by some list that at each map reset the players can cast a vote for the next map. Some of the FPS games I've played online do this.

Easy to game that though

What's the worst that can happen? The morning crew keeps choosing the most easily rollable map? Is that really a big deal?
Wiley.

anyone where CV's come into play, they seem to jump start good fights. Sad to see the CV get sunk some times, but that's part of the game.

Not disputing that, but you should elaborate. What you say is easy may be something that doesn't cross the mind of some people.
-
I'm actually all for a vote of map. I think it would allow some of these smaller maps to get played more and would be better during off hours. This current rotation does benefit the weekend #s and players who only fly on the weekends really only get to play about the same 5 maps.

At the very least, it would show the least liked maps among the playing community.

25 perks for the easy rotation of 1 specific map by 1 particular side waffle stomping until the rinse repeat burns them out and they leave the game.
A lack of variety and a lack of challenge is the fastest way to boredom and moving on.
-
Maybe something like a map can't be selected again for a number of resets, like 3 or 4. Why would the majority of players pick a map that they thought was boring? I also think a map should be forced reset if a resounding majority of players vote for it. Just an idea, but I'm sure you're right there's bound to be issues with it. My thought applies more to primetime hours though where numbers per side we be more balanced for voting. Thanks for replying. :salute

If it requires coding it probably won't happen
If its just a list it follows it seems simple enough to have a vote here..once provided the list...that HT could put in the correct order with duplicates of those that are requested the most

True.
Modifying the list is not a bad idea.
-

HT does coding for the game very frequently, I'd even venture to say most days.
