This skin is for knob, who requested a B-17 from the 452nd Bomb Group.
B-17G-10-VE 452nd BG 730th BS 42-39970 "E-Rat-Icator"
Delivered Long Beach 22/10/43; Walla Walla 11/11/43; Assigned 730BS/452BG [6K-P] Deopham Green 3/11/43
One of the 8th AF's most famous Flying Fortresses. Assigned to the 452nd BG, 730th BS in November 1943, this aircraft was the only original B-17 issued to the Group to survive the War, completing 128 missions before returning to the U.S. in June 1945. Depicted towards the end of hostilities, her nose is adorned with four ribbons - the Good Conduct Medal, the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal, and the Purple Heart, all of which had been awarded to members of her crew. She was scrapped at Kingman, Arizona in November 1945.

Great looking skin Oboe.

Just finished a book on the 8th Air Force, amazing for it to survive half as many raids as it did.
Nice job Oboe.

Thanks, yeah the Memphis Belle got all the glory. I didn't know about her until LNG and Knob requested a skin from the 452nd and I did some looking around to find a subject.

Any way to get the OD around the front of the cowling like they were factory painted? Or is that a result of the skin set up itself?
On the restored Memphis Belle they got it right. Most of the surviving Forts don't have it correct. You only really see the style you have on the cowls on the field painted B17Es. Out of the factory they had the cowl front OD like in the image of the restored Belle.

I can try, but the cowling area is one of the places on the B-17 that has awful stretching issues. She's already submitted but I'm looking at doing at a few more Forts yet. Thanks for that photo - I'm saving that one for reference...

You can update a submission until it goes into review...

Worked all afternoon on it, but I'm not able to update the submitted skin. It doesn't show in the Update page. I think that must only work for skins that are already in game?
It'll be my first submit for the next cycle. Shame, now that I know its wrong its going to bother me all month!

I hate that!
Let's page Hitech. Maybe he'll fix that.

I'm glad Dan mentioned it, because it does look right - I had never noticed it before. It'll be correct for the rest of the OD ones I do.
