Title: The “Single string Double gutbucket” that I just made.
Post by: G0ALY on November 13, 2021, 10:08:04 AM
I thought I would share this musical instrument that I recently made.  It is a version of the washtub bass used in old jug bands.

Here is a link to “Insructables”  a website where you share how you make things.  I entered it in a contest there, you can’t vote on it, but extra views might not hurt.  However, do not click on the link of me playing it until you have had 6 beers… Because that is the condition I was in when I made the video, and In America, I have the right to be judged by a jury of my peers.

Now that might be within my building skills! Building an electric guitar is quite easy but I'd really like to build an acoustic upright bass.

I got the idea from someone who had built a double washtub bass. He used a flat neck, with four strings.

I am not a musician; I wanted a single string piece that could be played just by tilting the neck back.
