Ok I know that many if not all of you here know what the answer is to my issues so here it is guys!
Now for sites like Ebay for starters every time click on an add my computer opens up an entirely new page. No, what is the easy fix to stop this new page issue? The same problem exists for both my laptop with win10 pro and my desktop running windws 11 pro as well. :bhead :bhead :bhead :uhoh

Some where in the browser settings there should be a open new link in tabs option. I know that option is in Firefox as i had the same problem once.
-
In Firefox, the checkbox for using a new window instead of a new tab is on the first page, "General", in settings, "Open links in tabs instead of new windows".
It's only a guess but I imagine all browsers have a similar page.
It would be very surprising if only Ebay was giving you a problem.
-
As far as this problem being with only Ebay that answer is yes it is. I really cannot find any setting anywhere that I can change and set the explorer from not opening a new tab/page. My problem lies with both a tab or new page as they one in the same here.

A quick and dirty fix is to reset the browser.
Before doing that, though, is to check your default browser setting! As both Chrome and Edge are Chromium based they can look surprisingly similar. So let's assume you're a Chrome user and Windows has somehow managed to change the default browser to Edge. In such a case you'd start with Chrome as usual but every link to another site would open in Edge.
-
ok THANKS!
I reset the browser in my settings of the Chrome browser. Or do that in edge?
-
Check the default browser setting first, that alone may do the trick: Right click the Window icon down left, click Apps and Features, click Default apps on the left, scroll down to Browser, click and choose. If you prefer any other than Edge, choose that and click "Change anyway" despite Microsoft strongly persuading you to choose Edge.
-
I went into my settings folder in while I'm in edge and I found I cannot even click on the option to set edge and make it my default browser. :uhoh
-
Huh?
Did you do that in Edge settings or Windows' settings? The default is set in the latter.

Hey, sorry I've been so busy lately and haven't had a chance to get back on this machine. I've gotten so dam rusty with the PC world latley. I will have to go into the settings of windows you say. yes? I've got windows 11 and even on my laptop with win 10 pro I am having the same problem and this happens only while I'm in ebay. This thing just won't go away!!! :bhead

Windows settings, yes.
That it plagues you on two separate computers seems strange at first glance. Then again, if you sign into both with the same Microsoft account that might explain it as the settings will follow that account.

Ding ding ding...... :aok
Now you can screw up all your machines from one desk.

If it is just ebay giving you the issue then it might actually be the way the webpages are written - you can write an html link such that it will always be opened in a new tab/window.

That's true.
I've also seen that some pages open in a different browser instead of the default one. Usually that has happened after having uninstalled some program and what's funny these days is that they open in Internet Explorer! If I remember right I've even seen some relatively new Microsoft program do that.
