I know some squads are very casual, but not ours.
Our squad, The Wrong Stuff, is run under the strictest discipline and professionalism. We fly in uniform.
There's no time for fun and games. We've got a war to win.
-
With all due respect, Gina, put me down as a 'no.' 20 years ago I was an EZ Target. Like Outback Steakhouse, no rules, just right.
I know, there as no 'invitation' there, but what you describe is not my vision for a good experience in AH. Just my opinion.
-
you can have fun while at the same time winning the war. every squad I have ever been prioritize having fun over anything else.
but it's your squad, your rules.

I was just joking anyway..
The name of the squad is the wrong stuff. We don't do anything right. Lol

In my squad I make FT1 dress up like Hitler in Little Nicky and keep a fresh supply of pineapples around just in case he ever under performs. Probably why the 490th is such a "dominating force" in the game these days.

Next time you see Mindy on....hit her up!!!! Naughty Wicked Witch that she is!!!

Thank you, I thought your post was a little out of character from other things I've seen you write but it's good to know.

There is no running the Pigs On The Wing, rather I am lucky to be part of this great group of friends for over 17 years. It is all about fun, the organization comes from flying and dying together for such a long period of time. OINK

Last time I played we had a small squad called Elite Top Aces + 1 Mexican.
Me, Ack Ack, Drediock, Slamfire and some others.
We were all generals. Just a joke - and we had fun!

Doubletime!!! :bolt:

wondering what your squad talks about.............

lol.
Squads MUST be run under the strictest of discipline and training.
No one is permitted to experience a good time. We've got a war to fight. You can have your good times when you're dead.
Don't make me call the fun police.

sarcasm aside that's exactly how I run my squad. No wonder it's just me :x
I blame it all on the likes of my upbringing in bishland under vDallas and Jarbo :old:
And always remember never to bring a P-38 on a pony mission :aok

You guys are lucky you've never had such a ruthless leader as corkyjr. A tyrant I tell you.

This is a well-known fact. For many years, +Tiff was not a martinet. He was easy and pleasant, almost vivacious.
Until the Spitfire Drop Tank Controversy.
After that, his heart hardened, and he became the Captain Bligh of P-38 notoriety.
Very sad story.

What was the controversy about Oldman?

My time at the helm of the Jolly Rogers was one of great joy and pitiful despair. I was a ruthless leader and a reckless despot. I was a magnanimous hero and a generous friend not to mention a cruel betrayer and a horrible advantage taker.. I set and broke the example. I never asked of others what I wasn't willing to avoid, myself. It was a thrilling time. I was a squad of one. :O

Oh my gosh! Meatwad!
There's a name I haven't seen in ahwile!
I just stayed on the Rooks, where I was assigned by the . I don't want to defy regulations or defect.
:airplane:
-
How you been doing?
Im currently a rook but not in any squads. I dont get on that often but when I do I am usually in a GV. I have already been called a spy by a long time GV'er because I am not on too much.
I have been poking around on the FW forums but just as a guest, havent subbed there yet.

Exactly. When I enlisted, they made me a Knight. Then Sik1 offered fighter ops tutoring and we used vox 117 in the training arena. The next time I logged into the main arena, I was still set to 117, where I got to listen to Gpreddy, Omen, Deputy, Maineac1, Waxx, and the rest. Even though it's their squad channel and I'm not in their squad, their conversations are worth the price of my subscription.

Don't forget S.A.P.P..
The 80th decided since we had so many folks joining up with us from other squads, we needed a separate P-38 entity for the group of groups... so to say. Corky started that up too.
S.A.P.P.

I remember my very first day of playing the game, and some lady got on the radio demanding that I do something for her (I think it was to take out ords somewhere). I asked her "what am I, your employee?"
Her response was "I have three stars, I outrank you."
I told her "Good luck with that one, ma'am."

She might have been joking. Sounds like something I would say.

While flying in WBs, a guy named Darryl kept giving me targets to bomb. After an hour I said, "Darryl, how about a cheeseburger and some fries?" And he goes, "Great!" So I said, "Okay, but that's the last order I'm taking tonight." The next day I swapped from green to red and my life got so much easier.

That's funny.
there's always one guy like that. haha. I just kind of keep quiet.
The other day I was up in my pony over an enemy base with some action. There was some guy on vox berating others because he wanted to capture the base. 'do you guys not know what you're doing???' and other things like that.
I wanted to say, 'yeah... I've got like two hours to play and I just want to shoot at some planes'..
I mean, not everyone has a mission. I'll help when I can - and I love interacting with other people on vox. but I'm just usually wanting to do what I want to do for a couple of hours.
If there's some kind of fight going on - that's all I really care about.
:)
-
just wanted to add that if someone ASKES me to do something, I almost always do it. It's the guys that complain and order things that I just ignore.

When that type of “air boss” is yapping, it’s usually time to move to another base and let him/her play by themselves.

I remember when I joined the pigs, waystin would make me run 5 miles in the snow up hill with nothing but boots and a leather flight jacket. that was just to warm up

Anyone remember Bobn the bomber God over at WB. We had a blast hunting his bomber groups

With me it's "Can you take out the ack at the town at XX?" I have no idea, but if I'm not already up doing else, I'll say, "I can try." I don't think a lot of people realize that I've only been in AH since October. Half the time when I get a B24 into the air I go, "How about THAT?"
-
Always had fun with POTW and FreeBirds and their missions. It was even better when they worked together. It often wasn’t hording either as there were enough players to mount good defense.
Ahh the old days.
-
JG54 with an IRON FIST! LOL. more like herding cats!
-
Lol.
Hey, I have an idea!
What if all of the squadron commanding officers get together and make a private form over here and then I could be the leader of that.
So I would be like the supreme Commander and I would keep everybody very strictly in line from that platform.
Does that sound good to everybody? Good okay awesome! Let's make it happen!
🤗
-
I think I was too laxxed... they all just slipped away... so now I command myself....
and let me tell you.... I have found out I am a very insubordinate bastid

I used to join in with the FB's when they had a mission back in AH2. It was always a hoot. One time we drove M-18's and M-3's across one sector of terrain to take an air field up north. It took 20-25 minutes to drive up there.
Total surprise. We captured the base really fast because everyone had an assignment. There were no uppers as we shut down the entire base quickly. The FB's are a great bunch of guys. I am sorry to see many have moved on.
I have not seen Crabby in years. I still see FBBob online from time to time.
:salute

Bobn was the one guy I could NOT get along with. He got (whoever) to rig it so that a bomber pilot couldn't jump to a gunner position on level auto pilot. One night I'm in a B25 and here come Bobn. So I rolled and dived, jumped to the top turret and blew him out of the sky. He was extremely mad and accused me of 'gaming the game.' Alas, I heard Bobn passed away and the powers that be at WBs now assign him as a random drone on bomber missions.
