Title: WIP B-17G 379th BG 524th BS Topper, aka Ol' Gappy

This bomber should be more famous than it is, holding the record for most missions flown by an 8th AF bomber at 157 missions.   She's got a nice olive drab scheme with a colorful tail.   The real model was built before offset waist gunner positions, so I wasn't able to duplicate the proper position of the aircraft ID code letters on the right side.  Her first nickname was "Ol' Gappy", but the nose art of an empty top hat, collar and white gloves reminder people of Cary Grant's character in the 1937 movie "Topper", about a high society mischievous ghost.   Also unusual is the nose art painted on both sides of the aircraft.
