JimmyD3/Kenai77 has submitted the ETO terrain for the MA ("ETOMA") to Hitech. I've heard it called "the terrain Aces High has needed for 20 years..."
Who wants this terrain put into the rotation? I'm not sure how much work it is for Hitech to process/approve/install this terrain, but I know it requires at least some time and effort on his part. So how about a show of support here to let Hitech know how much you want it. :rock

I wonder if it would be a viable option to hard lock the map for a few days, even if it's rolled. :headscratch: It would go a good ways into testing out the map. :)

Other than the fact that this map may be a bit large given current player numbers, I’d love to see it put into rotation… If for no other reason then immersion.
Given the fact that HTC hasn’t developed anything in the last 3 to 4 years, what would Hitech’s be to adding a new terrain?
I’ve had an active account for over 20 years and am Ready to call it quits. This might keep me around a few more months.

Awesome! I actually think there would be some good fights and choke points on this map. I also really like that all 3 sides can engage each other at the same time near North Italy. It is pretty large but i think the choke points and small fronts will create good fights.
Definitely a :aok for me.

The cities locations are close to real life locations of London, Rome and Berlin. The rivers are correct, the Cliffs of Dover are there, as is the Rock of Gibraltar. The Dardanelles strait has been widened to accomodate fleet passage. I think the land type is mostly mixed forest and open space, but there are mountains where mountains are supposed to be - and North Africa does appear to be desert-like from the clipboard map, though I haven't travelled there.

:rock looks good and will inject some new-ness as it's figured out. I like the idea of real world terrains... just fewer trees perhaps, lol.
Tried to balance the trees between gv's having a fair chance at getting to the target without getting bombed, and yet making sure the planes have a good chance at seeing the target and bombing it. I think you will also find no two spawns are the same, what with trees, hills and valleys.

I don't know what all the current MA map criteria is, but at this point, I'd say give anything a try. Absolute worst case is it doesn't work and you can just retire it.

The towns don't show on this map, not sure why, but they are there on the terrain. Shore Batteries aren't showing either, but they are present also.

Hope to get another chance to pass the "Rock of Gibraltar" again, even if it is only in an mmog WWII air combat game/Sim.....
Had the pleasure of seeing it in real life several times while entering/ leaving the Mediterranean (be nice to find all my pictures from that past life)

<BUMP> Immersion and history make the game fun for me. Scenario participants numbers are climbing according to the first day of the Road to Berlin Scenario.
This somewhat brings it to the MA. Flying over Germany in Lancasters and B17s with escorts would drive home the history of the air war during WWII.

if this were implemented and some of the goofy maps removed, I would probably come back to the game so you guys could humiliate me daily. I just got bored with the goofy maps and my inability to compete in a meaningful way. I cannot afford VR at the moment and I feel that playing against people who can is kind of pointless as they will always have far better SA than I. <S>

I think HITECH really hears the noise after not even looking at the forum for 5 plus days.... Lol. New map might make me second guess leaving but the chance he does that is akin to the chance he even repairs servers next time they fail.

Dale has been nothing but good for this community. He has kept the game and business going after all these years. He has always been professional when speaking over the phone and whenever I've had an issue he responded quickly. Even showed me the grace to come back last year. I just don't understand all the smoke some of you guys throw him anymore. It's his game he can do what he wants. He will put this map into rotation when the time is right of that I have no doubt.

To me the idea of playing on a real world map, modified to make it playable, is intriguing. No two spawn points are the same, and no two countries are the same. As in real life, each country has its strengths and weaknesses. There are no linear capture spawns, it's more like a back and forth movement, ie move forward 2 bases, go back 1.
Perfect? no. But I think it will be a lot of fun, we'll so hopefully. :rock

As already mentioned early on in this thread, Kenai and obeo, ya called HiTech and asked with him giving ya the green light to go forth and create the wonderful map/terrain the both of you have done ✔️
The map will make it into rotation, I believe, just maybe needs debugging at least 😉

I would assume if the map is put into rotation, it would come after Northco. Of course Hitech certainly has the ability to insert it wherever he wants. :D

I logged into the ma after scenario, saw a strange map, thought it was it, my heart jumped. then on my first flight 1/2 way to the target the map was won by the knights. then I took a second look, damn.
I did have a dream last knight that I was bombing zacks house.

Haven't received any word it was put into rotation. Last night fjordma was up, grinder was rolled early this morning and baltic is up now. Those maps are in sequence with the existing rotation. Not sure what semp is referring to. :headscratch:

Might be one month old but I LIKE IT :rock I default to rhnland (snow) by Ghostdancer, which is a great Europe map, but to have the Mediterranean stuff as well would be so amazing, plus I spy some carriers :) Plus sometimes I'm just not in the mood to take the time to fly a whole mission from England to Berlin and back, because let's be real, I have a life too. The bases on the continent looks like that'll cut down the time for Germany missions.
