Today at 12:45 Pacific Standard Time, the bish owned 48% Nit fields. while 0wning 76% of their fields and they are not playing to win. Only to grind one side into the ground.
I feel that whenever a team goes below 45% an Armistice should be declared and no winners and no perks given. This would force teams to plan ahead and go ahead and win the war rather than just grinding one team into the ground

Yeaa the Jokers morning crew seem to have thing for the knights. Its fun until the evening when we have 1/8 bases we should own and no one fights us.

It's easily proved that self esteem, self identity, is established by accomplishments. However, there's also a school of thought that proposes that "when what you do becomes what you are, you are headed for a breakdown."
As for me, my self esteem, my identity, is not locked into a game I use for diversion from real world issues. I have an eight year old grandson with back problems, and I can assure you, I spend a lot more time worrying about him than I do about who's going to do what in a game.
Just saying.

When this happens to the country you usually play on, good luck finding much of a continuous battle. It causes a lot of players log off (I’ve noticed countless times) and that further makes game play on that country sparse.
When I log into this situation I either sit there and stare at the map wondering what to do (log off or switch countries) or I put on auto-switch or just switch to where it looks like there will be a fight for a few hours. Often auto-switch will not help because it will put you on the low #’s side, the one that also has few bases and sparse fights. So you decide to attack, but they out number you very quickly…
Your solution may help, but I doubt seeing anything implemented because as always what are the unintended consequences?

A sense of power is as addictive to some people as some drugs. Worst part, it leads many to log off.

I agree, there is NO CALL to reduce any country to that level, period.
That having been said, all 3 countries do it, Bishops, Knights & Rooks. When my side does I try to go attack the other country. It is not unreasonable to get 2 or 3 extra bases for a buffer.
Maybe a percentage cutoff would be appropriate, but that will have to be something decided and implemented by Hitech. Skuzzy was not above resetting the arena in situations like that, I saw it happen more than once.

I mean Bish morning crew are no different than the midwar tards back in the day <S> :neener:
Now with that said let's break this down from a strategic position. After the early early morning crew (knits) roll 1-6 bases the varsity morning crew logs in for their usual 3-6 hour blitzkrieg running 11-18 deep versus 3-8 players on the other side they are attacking. Almost every single day.
Bish morning crew are veteran tactical players and this is their primetime. There is no blame to push on this. When they play for a win, without a win setup by the night crew, it always back fires on them and the ground the gained is lost through out the day.
Out of the 2 opposing countries, knights hands down hold the greatest threat to bish security and a clear path to victory the majority of the time. By grinding as many bases from the knights as possible, this limits the opportunity for the knit horde to roll later on in the day. It also allows enough resources to be focused on the rooks at night.
If the Bishops aren't taking their foot off the gas and switching to rooks then it's to make a clear point. It's to display their dominance in the MA and nothing can be done about it crying from side lines. For those trying to stop it, their isn't a dam thing they can do either because no one rallies together under 1 banner in leadership while coordinating strategic defense and counter-attacks.
I have absolutely no problem with what the bish morning crew are doing and I mostly play as a knight. Some play for entertainment and are not invested in the war. Others, we grind our butts off for victory and seize every opportunity to do so. With the lack of overall dominance by rooks over the past year, except at times when they actually play to win, rolling knits is the clear and obvious choice to setup the bish for the win. Does it always work? No! In fact I'd say it's less than 50% effective.
 Here's to the bish. If the community has a problem with it well call in sick from work, log in, do what it takes to stop it and push back. :bolt:

You label it as "poor game play" I label it as playing the game as they see fit You know....as in it's their money :old:

I can't take this post by Cane seriously.
I remember way back when this guy called Jonah out as a "Cheat" for using a CV's to create gameplay and fights.

When he talks, smile, nod and carry on with your day.

Exactly! If all he just to complain about is a game, he has no problems. :aok

MW was usually the best arena back in the day. Best plane math ups.

the thread you have quoted is about der Jude being a cheat. I found two quotes from me and at no time did I accuse him of being a cheat. I complained about him jumping sides and running the boat directly into bombers. If there was a third post by me I can't find it and I stand by my not accusing anyone of being a cheat

Thank you Spike I stand corrected. The problem is we were talking about Jonah and not der Jude.I did call him a cheat! all I can say it was done in my rash youth

Well... I see the same ole complaints are still alive and well

All this fuss over a game??? :headscratch: I'm sure many of us have more concerns in our lives on more important matters.

The older I get the more I have to complain, trouble is I often forget what I wanted to complain about. I that when happens happens

What is poor gameplay lately is Rooks on all the maps with a TT/FT deciding to take all the bases on the Island(s) or area.
On a map like NDIsles where if they left it alone there’s always a lot of action. Watching the map yesterday they fought off every effort Bish/Knights to retake their bases in center island all while losing other bases around their strats and the map.
NDIsles is one of my least favorite (of course many probably love it), but what is the obsession…?
:headscratch:
It’s irritating to the point of logging off and finding an alternative.

They* don't like meaningful resistance. Let's face it, side balancing doesn't work, 7-to-1 odds is often standard - think what that practically means: 14-2 airborne for instance with 0 Rooks is an utter failure of any reasonable environmental interaction or fair or rewarding gameplay for anyone else. For one quarter of the daily cycle Dale doesn't own the game. The horde owns it. And they like it.
*Jokers are typically the kernal around which the horde cohesively forms. You don't even need to check the roster when it begins, I think anyone who has played on those hours would recognise the atmosphere change.

I dont think most players like meaningful resistance. I see huge darbars from the bish front and call about 6 alerts only to get one, maybe 2 defenders to help. The other team mates are busy attacking un defended bases on the other front. Its like this with all 3 teams.
You have 2 options to stop a horde. 1) kill ords/barracks surrounding the bases or 2) defend with a horde. They will immediately stop and I have seen massive log offs on the bish front once they see the other teams are starting to defend. People get all hyped up off base taking and yes, it is fun. Let's be honest, there really is no skill in it and the strategy to wining maps is by taking the most undefended fields. I have learned to go with the flow at all times and I will either switch to rook or have fun just dog fighting and let the horde do their thing. No matter what percentage of fields the others have, There is at least 2 bases on each map I can fly from.

No I suppose not. I did. The players who could outfly you were the most interesting but in dire short-supply eventually. Perhaps because of that :rock

To this day I'd have to studiously examine the Clipboard Maps to know which building was what. Never dropped a bomb from a bomber's bombsight in all this time :rofl
I tried Option 3 for ages: fight with the most-advanced ACM you could devise or discover, out-numbered or alone, before eventually leaping 600-yards in the air and tactically scattering myself over a large area while being shot from at least three, different directions simultaneously and subsequently being mocked on 200 before moving to Option 4: just log off, do something else more constructive while considering the merits of continuing your subscription.
I'm on a funny Timezone. No doubt there's more ebb and flow at other times of popularity.

I always viewed it as the motivation to start some fights rather than an end in itself. I find pursuing the efficiency motif a bit strange. You won the war. Congratulations, here is your reward, everything is reset in a Sisyphean / Energiser Bunny-stylee and just start again like traumatized automaton, endlessly toiling without self reflection, abstact purpose or personal-development.
On reflection, I've always been somewhat of a misfit

a) Not sure I agree with your assessment, of course it depends on what you mean by "meaningful resistance". On the other hand I too have made an alert well in advance, only to see 2 or 3 show up to help. As a counter to this it normally happens when we are being double teamed, and I would suggest that is the case for all 3 countries.
b) I strongly disagree with the bolded statement, any time there is combat for a base, offensively and defensively there is some skill involved. Aircraft defending or attacking, gv's, man guns, and bombing of facilities or gv's.

Poor gameplay often stems from people caring too much about taking fields and not caring enough about defending fields. I think poor gameplay exists when people hide CVs instead of using them as literal mobile runways to take our airplanes close to their airplanes so that the people in airplanes can shoot at each other in an airplane shooting game.

Average game time for me...
Now I am in the wrong time zone for the good times but this is my AH
Game day possibility 1
Login...mercenary mode ... check roster ... 14 ...3...6 ...
If I am lucky my side has enough bases and they are being attacked so i have something to shoot at.... short lived.... upper upper upper .... 4 cons vulch the runway.... alert alert.... oh...I am the only one actually on ...ok... hmmm wait for the take I suppose.... and try on the next one.... or if I am super lucky I am getting it from both ends so i can bounce around...
game day possibility 2
login... mercenary mode...check roster... hmmm they have 30% of my bases... they have 28% of my bases....sometimes I am lucky and they are frenzied and still attack my side.......but usually no fights my side.... ok lets roll a gv to a town.... plane up bombed... try again... free kills to be had enough of that... bring a plane....nothing...bring a bomber and maybe get an upper....... do I really want to change sides... ok.... change sides.... oh ... only three of us actually in flight but why am I the only defender.... it's all good guys I am bombing the strats... that'll help... roll roll roll vulched vulched vulched..dum dah da dum...**** has won the war... the good thing about that... at least the tower sitters are gone hahahaaha
game day possibility 3..
join the numbers and kill ai, roll bases and that stupid defender that keeps upping... what a handsomehunk ....

Now just imagine that you log on and there happens to be a furball with 5-6 guys on each side with a CV off the coast. You are ecstatic! Then, some Lancaster just comes and bombs it and the CV never returns because the enemy decides that they'd rather use it to defend the port 2 sectors away.

yep...the same lame

I would give the guy in the Lancaster a <S> for job well done. But, I am of the opinion that furballing is what's destroyed gameplay in AH.

Same practical Timezone as me Tongs. If I was lucky I used to run into you, Techwrek, those Mr.... fellows and if we were honoured: The Trogdor. In a parallel to the golden days of the DA, just as the Tempests and 190Ds would start to show up marking the end of the Breakfast Club, so would the professional base-taking machine mark the end of my daytime fun.
My previous comment about meaningful resistance also meant if you made it too hard for them they'd just abandon base x to attack base y and get base x later on when the resistance had ceased. Therefore even fighting could end the fighting :headscratch:
Let's be honest, there really is no skill in it and the strategy to wining maps is by taking the most undefended fields.
^ this, basically.
But, I am of the opinion that furballing is what's destroyed gameplay in AH.
Could it be that a measure of both in moderation and balance was needed to sustain 24/7 gameplay? The daytime slow-dip has observably expanded across the clock. I fear it's not linear: less people means more people don't bother (traumatised, industrial Energizer Bunnies notwithstanding). Thus the end game is observable as an inverse exponent. Rats eating each other's tails, base-taking with Spitfire Mark Is throwing hand grenades, individual troops cycling to the map room. Abandoned to our own fate by the Dale-God-entity. Cats living with dogs. Fire and brimstone..
