Maybe you should tell all the EU countries continuing to buy oil and materials from Russia how to do the cancel culture thing. I’m sure you’re very good at it :aok
Btw, not one place anywhere have I stated Russia’s invasion is justified. So who are these apologists as you call them?
-

Of course they find that regrettable but not immediately doable for some EU countries, especially those not wanting to accompany Russia to its impending semi-permanent relocation to the 1950s.
There are a lot of refugees in my town now. Frankly Poland has taken the majority of the load along with some others to the East.
Is there any further information to the cause? Ukraine claims it was one of their anti-ship missiles but perhaps a Russian conscript found a small rubber plug in the basement labelled: "Dry dock drain plugs do not unscrew" and said to himself, yes they do, look.

It highlights the fact we are not a global community just a greedy and corrupt one who will make deals with the devil if it means a few more coins in their pockets...
It shows the error in our ways of relying on even more corrupt governments than our own for our needed day to day
We are told to blindly believe what we are told but repeatedly are shown many of those things to be false
This is our world today

everyone was trying to civilize russia by including it into a global marketplace. Idea was that democracy will come along as commerial bonds are tighter. Add to that German guilt inprinted for generations and low costs of gas and that's how we got here. It isn't greed, it made sense at the time. Nobody was openly calling russia for what it was, everyone was waiting for them to see the light.
Line between inaction and appeasement is pretty blurry. Finally we see them for what they are.
Nrshida - where are you at?
I got 6 refugees under my roof right now and 2 more in my old apartment.

He's former KGB. Those thinking patterns were not understood well before this. Maybe you guys understood it better than the more Western nations.

I'm in the Netherlands, in the Randstad. Looks like they are being collected here and then periodically redistributed. It's fascinating to contrast the cultural differences with the locals. There's hardly any men. Some teenagers, mostly women and children.
Dziekuje za to, co zrobiles, wszyscy Polacy :salute

if you're dutch check this out:

And you people will be given some other nonsense.
Sorry to disappoint its already been decided the Ukrainians will sue for peace.
You can act like spoilt brats but that’s the outcome
What was the last book you people have recently read?
Don’t get angry it’s a simple question?

Wrong again.
My post was a criticism of the hypocrisy of those that condemn the invasion of Ukraine yet are essentially financially supporting it by continuing to buy from Russia.
Not very difficult to understand :aok

Russian state media today denies that the missile cruiser Moskva has sunk. It's merely conducting "Special Underwater Operations."

Meanwhile, the Elite Ukrainian Farm Tractor Attack Squadron has leapt into action.

I understand it takes awhile to adjust supply chain management for EU and commodities purchased from Russia can not just be cancelled overnight.
However, the threat from Russia to the Ukraine has been imminent for much longer than most media like to acknowledge. Early 2014 is when the invaded and annexed Crimea, Russia has been eyeing the rest of the nation ever since.
Collectively it’s all too Chamberlain-esque. The US and many of our companies are not all that innocent either, yet.
This is just one example of how fast things can change when they really need to (which beg the questions about how long it’s taking to embargo Russian products):
“We knew that to play our part helping combat coronavirus, we had to go like hell and join forces with experts like 3M to expand production of urgently needed medical equipment and supplies, said Jim Baumbick, vice president, Ford Enterprise Product Line Management. “In just three weeks under Project Apollo, we’ve unleashed our world-class manufacturing, purchasing and design talent to get scrappy and start making personal protection equipment and help increase the availability and production of ventilators.” - Ford Motors

I gathered from our (European) media that Germany would have to (and is now) revising its whole energy policy while trying to minimise its own economic-damage. Not sure there is an alternate supplier is there? Russian Fed suddenly demanded they had to be paid in Roubles and the Germans said no. Maybe Lusche has a more accurate insight. The Batic states apparently just turned the valves off and decided to have salad all season. Goon on 'em.

Same here although I was very busy then & not paying attention. Perhaps because it was all previously USSR it was sort of viewed as their business back then. Rather looks like the Ukrainians spent the intervening time devising good tactics. You have to admire people who fight with cunning and skill and retain a sense of humour as in the OP's graffiti.

Yup completely disastrous clash of subjective-interpretations. KGB not so well-known for reasonable conversations over a nice hot cup of tea.
-
I believe the actual target might not be Ukraine at all but the US dollar
Any move to replace required payment in anything but dollars leads to very nasty times..
See Iraq and Libya for to recent examples
Trying to move his payments to roubles is a step in its death
As we don't have gold but military might backing its reserve currency status any threat to that leads to one thing

Putin's latest justification of the Ukrainian attack, sure sounds like Hitlers justification for the attack on Poland.
