One of the games long time players Betty has been diagnosed with small cell lung cancer.

Prayers are needed as she fights this fight.

"We caught it in time and it hasnt metastasized!"  We chatted for a few hours! When she called me....STILL she was more worried about how I was Doing, with MS! It had been a while since we talked, because I, well I dont really know why? I didnt want to be a downer, am borderline introvert, No news is good news?   She had to call my mother...I dont even know where my phone is. WTF!  OK...    CANCER????  Meet Samoan BAD ASS!!!!!  A funny- I always resort to smatarsedness, joking to cope with issues that make me uncomfortable...."Look at it this way! If you do lose your hair(she hasn't yet to her surprise) Imagine how much scarier you will be!"   She laughed so hard, I felt guilty...had a coughing fit.She had only said "Diagnosed with cancer"...lots of possibilities..  "You quit smoking yet?"   "D#$@ it Parsons, I am trying! CORRECT AGAIN! How do you do that?  Yeah, Cigarettes got me!"  If any one can soldier thru this crap, my money is on Betty!  I didnt pick up the slightest sense of despair

Good to hear 1stpar3, a positive attitude is a great start when dealing with cancer

My wife and I had an episode this last January, after some bleeding and a trip to the emergency room, a biopsy showed she had cancer of the uterus. Scared is not the word for it. Our first response was to fall on our knees and start praying, asking the Lord for guidance and strength. We asked for prayers at church, some prayer warriors we know of (MWK522 & his wife).

She had surgery for a full hysterectomy on February 15. We were blessed, it was a stage 1a cancer, only on the lining of the uterus. The lymph nodes were checked and no indication it had metastasized at all. Final pathology report re-affirmed this. She has 3 month check ups for the next 3 years, then it goes to 6 month for 3 years.

She is now fully recovered and back at work now. God is good and we are thankful for those that prayed for us. Betty is on our prayer list now.  :salute
