This skins is an adoption of Krusty's original skin and is appropriate for the Target for Today: Kanalkampf to Blitz special event being run on June 11th.
This Bf 109E-4 was flown by Josef Eberle of 9./Jg 54 during the summer of 1940. This aircraft was photographed as skinned in early August at Guines, France. The distinctive dark green squiggles were field applied over the standard RLM 71/02/65 scheme. The iconic 9./Jg 54 emblem was painted on the cowl. On August 12th, this aircraft was photographed again after belly landing in France, this time it had yellow wing tips and rudder top. Since I already have a skin from this squadron with the yellow IFF markings, I elected to go with the earlier scheme.

I sure wish we'd get an updated 109E with the E3/4 and E7 so the desert, Balkan and Russian Front birds could have the pointed spinner and lug the DT with a bit more oomph in the E7. I'm a sucker for Emils. II/JG54 in particular :)
Nice work on the skin as always :aok

That may be the best-looking 109E I've seen. :aok :aok What a great scheme!
