Title: Bit The Bullit
Post by: Shuffler on June 26, 2022, 07:06:37 AM
Been in the market for a new truck for almost 2 years. Not looking like it is getting any better for the next two so I located a loaded GMC 2500HD Denali and bought it. Truck prices are crazy and not getting any better. The dealer I went to had just 6 (mix of Denali and AT4) on Friday and when I went in Saturday, they had 3 left. Most dealers have none..... online almost all are "in transit" and sold before the arrive.

I originally was looking for a 3500HD but that is even less likely to find.

Was looking into a new truck this year when carvana was going to give me just under $1000 less than I paid for it in new in 2013

Couldn't stomach the bloated prices even with the crazy trade in price

When msrp is a good price the world is upside down

Truck prices have been insane for a decade.

That's why I'm still driving my old 04 f350 dually with 420k miles on it. Even though I've put the mechanics kids through college at this point, it's still been cheaper than a new one.

Nice! Post a pic if you can. I've been thinking about a GMC Sierra  in a few years after I pay off my Denali Terrain. Really liking this 2013 Terrain. I feel like a boss driving it and it's actually pretty compact.

I love my Sierra so far. If I were to get a new one I'd get an AT4 and not a Denali, personally hate all the chrome and think it looks tacky. AT4s are sexy though.

It has finally been raining here. When it stops and I get it cleaned up, I'll take some pics. The next time the detailer comes by, he will do the ceramic coat.

I have a 2014 explorer limited. I bought it used. The car dealer keeps contacting me saying that they want to buy it or trade it in and give me a great price for it because everything's such demand.

But why would I do that? I wouldn't be able to find a replacement.

Their pitch is that they could get me into a newer car! Yeah? I like my car. I don't want a newer lesser car.

You have to watch. I was going through all the electronics and noticed I should have 4 extra TPMS for the RV. They were not in the truck. Called the dealer and they had to check. Sure enough they are supposed to be included. They will ship them to me Tuesday.

I had to laugh as there is also a grill cover for winter....  this is in East Texas. ROTFLMO

Our normal winter is three cold days in Fecruary..... cold for is anyway.

White Frost Tricoat..... looks like white pearl.

It is scheduled to have a Ceramic coat applied to protect the paint and wheels.

Nice truck!

I like gray as it hides dirt longer than white  :)

Shuff great Truck!.  I keep my daily drivers for a long time.  They keep my Hellcat in the garage.  It isn't driven in rain or during the winter.  Drag radials just don't make it in either rain or snow.

I had a 2004 Chevy Impala I had to put some money into of course, New intake manifold and gasket, new water pump, new front struts etc.  After 205K miles it was time to go when a head gasket went.

It had a 3800 V6 outstanding engine but when the firewall side head gasket went south it was time to replace my daily driver.  I have a friend at the MoPar Dealership call me and tell me a 2016 Jeep Trailhawk came in for service with 50K miles and was in brand new condition that would be my daily driver I went to look at it.  The older couple while there traded in their Trailhawk and purchased a new vehicle.  It was as advertised!  Granite in color with a satin black hood stripe and black leather and every option one could have including Sirius (which I have in my Hellcat)  It was like showroom quality.

I picked up my Buddy from High School days and went to drive it.  2.4 cyl 4 cylinder, 9 speed auto transmission.

I purchased it on the spot. The Hellcat is the last new car I will ever purchase.  It's my forever play toy.  The Trailhawk is gorgeous and perfect for what I want.
