There are a lot of interesting folks here on the boards. I don't meet as many folks face to face who are as interesting to discuss with.
I'd love it if all you folks lived near me and we could get together in person periodically to have such spirited discussions over some beer!
:aok
I feel the same way! Back when there used to be cons and stuff I wish I would have gone to one. Even though people have different political opinions, that never matter to me and it never mattered to the people in this game that went to those cons. Once people are together they're just people with a common interest.

I love Chino. What a gem of a place. I used to live within driving distance. I miss that place.
Especially now that I know I could meet my pals Gina and semp there. :aok
Another excellent local air museum is The Museum of Flight in Seattle. One of the greatest things ever was that every few months they used to have panel discussions with WWII pilots. Stories as amazing as any you'd read in books about WWII air combat.
One of these days, I'd like to see if we can get their video collection of the talks released.
An example of the sort of stuff you'd get:
I also came across an excellent little flight museum in Idaho called The Warhawk Air Museum, in Nampa, ID. They have a marvelous and amazing collection of books and a huge number of journals written by pilots, which you can sit down and read through. Their collection includes flyable P-40N, P-40E, and P-51C.
I came across it on our drive from Washington State to Tennessee and had to stop. Totally worth it. Had to get a picture of it to text to AKWarHwk. :aok

I haven’t made it there but it’s on the list…
I was a long time member of the muesem in Hamilton but have let the membership lapse. I did get to fly the stearman and a friend took the Harvard up at the same time. I was able to log an hour in the stearman and it was one of the best things I’ve ever expierenced. Once we landed the pilot asked if I was ok as I was dripping in sweat,my flight suit was soaked. I said ya I’m ok but this happens to me,he said well your in a small club as not many have flown in an open cockpit biplane!
